This is what I bought after my craftsman gave up after 7 yrs of service.

Sure its an off brand one but very fast. The hose is long enough to pump 2 4runner parked next to each other.

The millwaukee m18 is bad ass. Quiet. Fast. Battery lasts a long time.

OP: also depends on your use case, for just inflating a bit and rarely, a cheaper 12v plug one will do.

But if you air down and up off-road, I would start with the 88P and go up from there if need be.

The Dewalt 20v inflator works well if you are looking for battery powered.

 

Viair 88. I’ve used the heck out of mine and it fits nicely in the back cubby hole.

 

My Milwaukee M18 inflator has been one of the best things I have ever bought. I’ll never need anything else.

Viair 400P, A little pricier but made for vehicles with larger tires.

I've been using the Viar 88P since 2022. It works great but it's really slow to air up my 34" tires.

Been contemplating getting a larger Viar or Thor's Lightning and a quad hose kit. At that price point I start thinking about onboard air with an ARB twin... I'm undecided.

Problem I've found with those is that, depending on the inflator, it will burn out the fuse to your 12v powerpoint once it gets hot and has to work hard.

Am I a bad person for thinking having a manifold system is super dumb?

 

EZ Flate. Looks like a cheap Chinese company who's charging a premium because they put "M.O.A.B" on their product.

 

I’ve been using a $60 harbor freight Pittsburgh compressor for the last 4 years filling 33s.

 

The schrader valve is a bottleneck if you're filling up large tires with a twin-piston compressor like this one. A manifold system negates this bottleneck since the compressor's flow is feeding two (or four) tires at the same time. Of course there are other ways to address the bottleneck, like drilling another hole in the rim for a Monster Valve.

 

As a few others mentioned, this is a great! Easy carry store & use. Fills fast moderately quite & does not got hot to the touch.. watch a few vids it is Solid! Full automatic to your desired PSI

 

I will make the 5th recommendation on this one.

 

I have both the Viair 88P and the Viair 400P (see link for 400P) The 88P will inflate your tires, but it's slow and gets pretty hot so if you're running something like 285's, you might have to let it cool before getting all 4 tires inflated. The 400P is about $100 more, but worth the extra price.

Viair 400P for 12V. Cordless, Milwaukee 18 or Makita 18 depending in which batteries you may already have.

I have the 400P and the Makita, both great for several years of use so far.

Airing up with the Dewalt 20V inflator after playing around in Sand Hollow last year. It works pretty well but is slow when airing up from 15psi to 35psi. I have a battery charger I carry with me that I plug into the inverter to charge the battery if needed.

 

I have the M18 & a small 12VDC I keep W/plug kit in my ATV Forget that name. Got it at Pepboys few years ago after having a rock puncture rear tire on the trail.
