What have you done to your 5th Gen 4Runner today?

Okay, you're gonna hate me for this. But, I don't mind!

I filled up today, gas is $2.77 at my local Kroger for 87 Octane, with my Kroger fuel reward points, it was knocked down to $1.52/Gallon.

Kinda, yeah. The real trick is, click the 4x's fuel point coupon on their app. If I spend $100, which is easy to do, I get $400 worth of fuel points. Plus I have a Kroger Mastercard, which automatically gives me another .25 cents off.

I got $1.25 off each gallon when I filled up earlier today. I think I got just over 17gallons. I saved over $21.25; and that money is money I can put towards my next mod!

 

I do the same on the 4x points. I don't have the MasterCard though. I still can get 1000-1400 points a month.

 

I only got the card to use for gas/groceries. Since I get both at the same Kroger, it works out well for me. I pay it off in full every month, so no interest charges, plus it shows revolving credit and all that jazz. On top of the fuel savings, I get $10 in cash back on every 1000 points that I earn. That occurs about every two months or so.

So it's win-win-win for me.

 

I might have to consider that. I treat my credit cards in the same way and always do the bulk of my shopping at Kroger. And as long as they have these fuel points, I'll be getting my gas there too. Might as well take the 10 bucks too!

I highly recommend TouchUpDirect. Got a set (Essential Touch Up Combo) for like $30 and the color is spot on.

 

Is that better than Toyota touch up paint?

 

Went up the mountain to find some snow, alas nothing much to report, not even any mud puddles worth mentioning.

 

The color match is so good I believe this company uses the Toyota paint formula.

I've used Touchup direct on my last three vehicles, to cover up paint chips/rock chips. I used it on my 4Runner not long after I bought it (a small rock hit my hood). When I washed my truck today, I remembered that I touched it up, but I couldn't find it! It's that good.

 

I just went outside to take a pic to show everyone and I too couldn't find the spot I touched up!

 

I'll take your views over urban sprawl any day!

Been to California? Our gas tax is 0.02/gal more than you.

Edit: I was able to find gas for $4.12/gal today!

 

Washed yesterday, then a coat of Wolfgang sio2 paint sealant followed up with a second coat today.

You win on gas, it's $3.29 here, $2.66 8 miles from me in Missouri. We have the second highest real estate taxes , New Jersey is higher. We have a 2 story house, all brick with a walk out basement, our 2024 taxes were $19,863.

 

I just got done getting an alignment after I took her to pepboys last week and got told upper ball joints were blown out(one year old) shocks were blown (one year old) and inner and outer tie rods were bad. Say what u want about rough country but all I had to do was call them and told them my shocks had leaked oil and the send me two brand new ones. Inspected ball joints and they were both good. Inner tie rods had 0 play but replaced them anyways. Outer tie rods were fortune bad. Cost me about $350 to do it myself including having to buy the "specialty" tools and alignment. Pepboys had quoted me $1500. Said it would take 4 hours in their shop. Took me about 3 using jackstands.
