Looks like there’s another filter canister drain tool option from Fumoto. Personally I use a Motivx drain tool but glad to see there is another option.

I get the impression you screw it in and out for each use.

As opposed to an open/shut type valve that you leave in.

It would be cool if it was the latter.

Probably not because you would be compressing the spring all the time.

Jowett Performance made a replacement housing with a drain but I don't think they manufacture them anymore. I got a scratch and dent one but the socket never fit on it. I don't think it was milled properly.

People try to drain the housing first?

This is to drain the filter housing, not the oil pan.

    I know.

I'm just saying it would be kind of nice to have a fumoto valve on the filter housing for draining......something that you leave in place of the round silver plug with the o-ring. It would get in the way of the filter wrench though unless fumoto designed a deeper filter wrench to go with it.

    I've done it both ways.

I find it cleaner to drain the filter housing before unscrewing it.

I use this...same thing. This is very much needed as it is always messy if you don't drain it before removing the filter housing. Preference i guess.

Was a joke. Its cleaned but I ain't got time to mess with the POS drain. I just drop it spray with Brakeleen and move on.
