Bought a 22 4Runner SR5 PP XP Edition

Found one with 21,400 miles and bought it.
My daily driver is my 2023 Tacoma TRD Sport 4x4 Premium. (Doesn’t have any poverty buttons)
The 4Runner has most everything i wanted but a couple.
Has Sunroof, heated seats, 4WD, ATRAC, DAC, heated wipers, 360 camera, Fast USB charger, console safe, Dakine Roof Rack protectors, Toyota Weather mats, Nav, TRD Wheels, AT Tires, and TRD Skid plate.

What’s I miss.
Power rear door closure (Wife), heated steering wheel (Wife), JBL Sound, integrated dash camera.

I live on the east coast of FL originally form Jasper, Georgia.
I shoot Black Powder and other guns.
Serve as RSO at my local range and NRA Pistol Instructor.
I shoot SIG SAUER only but I like Glock and HK.

I really want to power my USB dash camera at the RV mirror.
I just changed the oil in it though it didn’t need it. Factory filter and Mobile 1 0w20.
Looking to learn a lot about 4Runners.

SR5 don't have rear locker, crawl, terrain mgt system that come on TRD Models. But can install lockers after market both front and rear.
I'm a big fan of 3rd row seat in SR5 / Limited. I prefer no moonroof though. My SR5 had 3rd row and no moonroof.

I power my dashcams from the 12v outlets. Since you have the console safe I guess you don't have the 12v out let in the center. Since you have the Fast USB charger, I guess you don't have the 12v outlet near the HVAC either. May be you can use the USB power thats under the rear vents?
If you are little good at wiring you can tap a wire to the back of the 12v outlet. Removing the plastic under the headunit is very easy.


I'm very spoiled by Glocks how easy to clean. Also familiar with Ruger, just needing one pin to disassemble. Been very tempted to add a Sig & HK to my safe.


I'm sure you will love 4Runners as you can mod them very easily.

Thank you Kmeeg! Where might i find instructions on how to get to the plug on the mirror so I can install the adapter? Perhaps where to tap figuring there is some kind of premade usb port i can wire directly to the power wires? Thanks in advance.

I personally tap the wire behind the 12v circular outlet.

But this seems to be a clean solution to plug in to the rear view mirror. @RumHamRunner73 might have better info per the comment above.
