What have you done to your 5th Gen 4Runner today?

Got up to 23.3 a bit after this. For almost 90 miles on my way to my parents house for christmas drafted off the RV ahead of me the whole way going 67mph.

Also i added my spidertrax spacers

I'm all about preventative maintenance so I added this Uni Filter UP-107 1" Clamp-On Breather today

That’s on my list. Already have a new filter ready to go. Had it for my Tacoma and never got around to it

 

I did this too and I’m very pleased with the results.

 

Mine just came just waiting on a nice day to do it.

 

Finally got to drive in the snow again! It’s about time winter showed up

Definitely hear the highs a little better and more clearly. Doesn’t make it sound like an entirely new stereo but not bad at all for the price and especially for the effort
I’d love a diy swap for the doors next

How do you like the bug shield and does it hold well? It uses an adhesive?

 

I have the AVS and it's super sturdy. Tight fit and it doesn't contact any paint. It screws on (4 or 6 screws I think). There are little square holes on the underside of the hood. The bug deflector comes with little locking plugs that you push into the square holes. They have a threaded hole in the center.

So you insert the plugs and then hold the deflector in place and screw it in with the included screws. It's a good design. No worries there.

 

Did you sell/trade it or wreck it?

 

This is something I’ve been considering doing. I just can’t decide.

 

To my eye, it beefs up the front end just a tad. The hood slopes down and the deflector gives it a little more height. Just a little appearance booster for the most part. I suppose it might deflect a bug or two. Certainly not a noticeable amount.

Also, best advantage I’ve noticed with the new speakers is the clarity of the Bluetooth/phone. Wasn’t nearly as crappy with the volume above the half way mark

 

Also I listen to a lot of audio books and notice a big difference.

I havent kept up with the skater bs thread in TW, sorry to hear about it. Hope you like your t4r though. Mine has definitely grown on me, but I still like my 1st gen taco a lot haha

Took her in for a 5K inspection (Good to know the TRD CAI passed), kind of senseless but have to keep the Toyota God's happy!

 

I read that the first time as "waiting for my life to get back in order". The FML sealed the deal.

 

I’m seeing a night and day difference in the clarity of my phone conversations and that makes me really happy. The old speakers would get terrible above half way up on the volume .. being that my hearing sucks I really need that dial cranked up.. I was in this predicament of keep it low and hardly hear or turn it up and hardly tolerate the cracklings haha

Indeed.. I’m still sad about it.. really miss my taco and the worst part was I had just paid her off.. didn’t even have 30k miles yet
