Awesome photos! I've done a lot of travel around Idaho by motorcycle and truck as well, and I have to agree with him. There are certainly some pretty parts, but they are few and far between. I honestly find it the least pretty of any state west of the great plains, possibly tied with New Mexico. The majority of Idaho is truly butt ugly. It makes Nevada look good.

Yup. I saw from your earlier post that you’re in Lake Arrowhead. We live down the hill and have a place up there too.

 

That chunk of the state is known as the snake river plain. It's very interesting geological history, but it's definitely not the scenic route.

 

Passing by the Steens Mountains in Oregon.....

 

We lived in the SB MTNS from '78 to '18. After we retired, we moved up to Western Montana, where my Wife was born. I miss certain aspects of SoCal but not the threat of year-round fire season. Had enough of evacuating and wondering if our house was still there. We miss the diversity of food places we used to go to and concert venue's we occasionally went to. Not too much diversity here but they do do their beef offerings very well.
Many many pubs, breweries and cannabis dispensaries.

 

65 degrees in the Midwest yesterday. Took the opportunity to take the kids and dog out to one of the conservation areas to watch the wildlife…and fish.

 

Insanely gorgeous! Those mountains have a good 5k feet more elevation than our local claim to fame Mt. Lemmon (AZ).

 

We live in Sedona. You can't swing a dead cat by the tail without hitting a scenic view around here. 71* and sunny today. That is Cathedral Rock behind my '24 Limited.

 

Would a live cat yield different results?? asking for a friend..

 

That should work fine, but it might be louder, so wear quality hearing protection. What is the worst that could happen?

There should be a SoCal 4Runner meet up there. I’d go.

 

Two weeks ago…Nothing extravagant but snow in LA (Lower Alabama) was scenic. This level of powder only happens every 8-10 years in my neck of woods so first time my 4R got to play in it. No - Did not drive because we aren’t fitted with proper equipment round here. It looked like a game of Mario Kart around town.

 

Buddy of mine I went to school with at Ole Miss lives in Baton Rouge and he loved the snow. But said same you said, only happens once in a life time.

BC is f*king beautiful right now, my word. This is from the Golden Ears bridge on my commute, 10 min from home. The Golden Ears double summit peaks are on the right, part of the Garibaldi Mountain Range.



I’m bout to warm up the runner and take a “Sunday” drive closer to the mountains, before I gotta pickup the kids.
