I never signed up for Toyota connected data services (don't want to), but two weeks ago a message warning happens every single time I start the car. "Communication module activation failed...........blah blah blah about cellular coverage and contacting dealer if message continues"

Tried disconnecting the battery for an hour and a half as someone suggested when I searched it and it made no difference at all.

Anyone know how to get rid of it?

    Thanks,
    John

There should have been a phone number by the emergency call button on the overhead. Have you called it to be disconnected to the data/tracking services? I’m pretty sure the number is in one of the manuals.

I’m not really sure about this since I’ve never heard about the voice alert you’re getting, but maybe if you request to be disconnected from the matrix, it could stop trying to phone home and the messages will stop? Not sure…

I suppose it's worth a try, but I think something has to be reset inside the vehicle.

I have a Toyota scan tool (Launch Creader). Maybe it can be done with that?

Maybe try downloading the Toyota App and go through the opt-out procedure to get your car to stop trying to connect.
