    ............didn't see it.

Not sure what happened, but it wasn't working. After the accident, I turned on the app to look for the video, and the newest one was from 2 weeks ago. It recorded perfectly from then.

This thing's supposed to be automatic. SMH.

You tried pulling the SD card and reading it on a PC?

    Yup. Nothing there.

    Plenty of them afterwards, though.

    Yikes..
    Sorry it happened.

Doesn't Fitcam show any lights when it's recording? Or any audio when you start the car?

The audio and the red light are my clue that my dashcams are working (or not).

Is there a separate folder on the SD card that the dashcam writes to for locked files? A lot of dashcams lock files automatically if it detects an impact. If you see files before and after it could be because the file in question has been sequestered.

    Oooh look, another mod.....
It does lock files when it detects an impact. My FitCam file structure is "Saved, Videos & Pictures" or something like that. I know I'm getting the names wrong, but there are three folders. But the OP stated that 2 weeks of files are missing.

That leads me to believe that his data card is probably corrupted. I had this happen with my OEM FitCam micro-sd card. I bought a better and larger card on Amazon. It's a 256gig "Endurance" one. Works like a champ. I think I paid $15 for it? I recommend getting a micro sd that is designed for heavy av recording.

    Thanks for your responses.

I found the files. They weren't in a separate folder, and aren't listed sequentially. They are named sequentially. The time stamps in the file names and on the videos are wrong, too, but they are there.

After I found them, i tried to sort them by name. They lined up better, but still not in actual order.

Mine does not. I don't think there's an option to turn that on, and to be honest. I don't want that. It would be annoying to hear it beep every time I turned my truck on/off. Now, when I connected the app to the device in my truck, the light does turn blue, to indicate that I'm connected to it.

I guess Fitcam is good for those who don't want any sound or visuals and pray that it's working.

I like Blackvue that "talks" when it's start recording or go to parking mode. Also the led indicator for visual in case you want to double check.

In Viofo it chimes when it turns on and LED indicator if you need visual confirmation while driving.

My FitCam has a blue blinking light when it is recording. I can faintly see it at night when looking down, or I just look around the rearview mirror to see it any other time.

On cheaper cams like Rexing there is a red dot that flashes on the small screen when recording, very retro like old camcorders but impossible to mistaken. Seems like a no brainer to have some sort of indicator when the camera is live.
