Have the eibach leveling lift. Would this void my drivetrain warranty?

    Oooh look, another mod.....
Installing a lift kit on a Toyota vehicle doesn't automatically void the warranty, but it can complicate warranty claims. The warranty may be voided if the lift kit is the cause of damage or failure.

    Explanation:
    • Improper installation
If the lift kit is installed incorrectly, the warranty may not cover any damage or failure.
    • Non-genuine parts
If non-genuine Toyota parts are used, the warranty may not cover any damage or failure.
    • Non-Toyota authorized repairer
If a non-Toyota authorized repairer installs the lift kit, the warranty may not cover any damage or failure.
    • Off-road use
If the vehicle is used off-road, where it wasn't originally designed for, the warranty may not cover any damage or failure.
    • Misuse
If the vehicle is misused, such as by racing, reckless driving, or exceeding payload and towing capacities, the warranty may not cover any damage or failure.
Some dealerships offer lift kits that are approved by Toyota, which may help retain warranty coverage.

Thank you. For clarification I’m referring to the groan noise in TSB 0075-23 where the groan is happening on some 21-24 4Runners. I guess I’m wondering how the lift could be blamed when it happens regardless of the lift.

Since it's a known problem (regardless of if you have a mod or not) I think you'll be okay.

In my case, I took mine for a loud needle bearing and they just blamed the tires (K02s). And charged me for the diagnosis.

Unfortunately, most dealers will blame it on the lift. They look for any out they can.

    Many dealers are useless anyways.

Had a rear end clicking on my XJ back in the day.

Jeep dealer said new axle, not under warranty.

Other mechanic correctly diagnosed that I just needed a standard rear-drum brake job.

My 14 had the needle bearing failure, lifted on a 2.5 Toytec lift. I was still under power train and CPO warranty circa 2016 and the dealer did cover the repair under warranty. They never said shit about the lift. Mid City Toyota in Eureka CA if that helps in your quest to get it done by your dealer.

Depends on the dealership and if they installed the lift.
