Trailer is the answer. That's the conclusion I arrived at. Having a truck that's paid for and in the family is one thing, but unless you get a good deal via friends and family, the used market of good condition trucks will only get worse from here on out as 3rd gen Tacos and 2nd Gen Tundras start getting worn out by commercial users and commuters.

A trailer hitch cargo basket works well too for messy items and is easier and cheaper than a trailer.

That would be a much cheaper solution but in my case.. I needed a project to occupy my time. It’s in the garage having AISIN timing belt w/ water pump kit, new Denso radiator, new anti freeze, new OEM lower ball joints installed. I also put a new battery and new tires and oil change the first week. It should be good for allot of those messy trips after that.

I agree, My total investment will be just shy of 10K when I’m done…. I have no doubt this thing will go another 150K miles with only minor if any issues. I just couldn’t think of any other truck I wanted for this amount. I’ve always wanted a Tacoma and this lil Tundra really looks like a Tacoma with the power of a V8…. I’m really excited. I even joined the Tundra forum…. Which someone suggested and they have been extremely helpful already.

I'm glad the truck is in the hands of an enthusiast instead of being bought by a landscaper or contractor seeking a low running cost rig and worked to death. Those guys should stick to Fords or GMs or Rams that look more manly to their peers anyway. :D
