Get the longest you can afford. I can't imagine a 6"-just use a hand saw at that point.

Dewalt sells an electric chainsaw with a 16" bar. It's great for medium duty work if you have a couple of spare batteries.

I am in agreement with nimby. I also have a DeWalt 16" that I've used on several occasions to clear down trees blocking my path forward on longer back country trips. I also carry other DeWalt tools that will use the same battery and charger such as an impact driver (tire changes), tire inflator and cordless vac that I always have on hand in Snoopy. That's not to say I also carry hatchet and axe at all times as well for camp chores.

How do you like that saw. I want to get either that 12” one or the little pruning one to replace a black and decker one that I killed. It needs to fit in a backpack for clearing mountain bike trails.

I'm considering a 12" chainsaw and while perusing around the Home Depot website I discovered what has to be one of the best deals on a quality product line that I've ever seen...

    Rigiddeal1.jpg Rigiddeal2.jpg

A contractor uses this product line exclusively and I can attest to the robustness and power efficiency compared to my (former) DeWalt and Makita power tools.

What's annoying it depends on the tool. I chose the Dewalt because of the chainsaws performance over the Milwaukee. Otherwise i agree. :D

Its killer. Tons of torque which is surprisingly helpful over just speed. Prefer it over gas.

I like Dewalt because they have a huge collection of 20 volt tools for woodworking, automotive and landscaping. You can usually get some pretty good deals around Black Friday.

I agree! And, obviously just talking trash in good fun.

For me, it was the Fuel Hole Hawg that sealed it. When I was doing more residential work, I used it almost daily. Being able to drill out a whole house without dragging a cord around was just awesome!

I think, overall, you really can't go wrong with Milwaukee, Dewalt, or Makita.

Father's day is usually good for tool sales, as well.

The strap itself doesn't, but each end is a loop, so I'll run it through itself around the tree to tighten it, then use the other end to a shackle on the hitch, yeah, i should've taken more pics lol

Got it. Those straps with sewn in hooks are dangerous. My brother used to use one and the hook came flying back nearly hit him. Never again.

Deff can't blame him there especially with the amount of tension, guessing it'll come back hard and fast

Gotta be honest, never even thought about that aspect of it though, glad i didn't buy that kind lol

Happens a lot in the desert, people have died from it. This is more vehicle recovery but applies when moving large object like trees out of the road also. https://youtu.be/cmXjoG39lAY?si=1-leryJe9w8gh3nK

The Milwaukee is awesome, never thought I would say this, let alone own electric. I will add that the 12 amp battery is a must, and it will not disappoint.
