I know there are probably already threads related to this, but still wanted to make my own.

I was hoping to have someone with more knowledge on Dobinsons Lift kits help me choose the right options for my desired lift.

I have a 2019 OR non KDSS. I have decided to go with the Dobinsons IMS lift and my desired height is as close to 3” in the front as possible without going over 3” and 2” in the rear. In terms of additional weight, I plan to add a C4 low pro bumper at the time of lift and then a roof rack and rock sliders a little later.

I know I will need UCA’s and probably diff drop am deciding which brand I want to go with for those.

I'm gonna copy/paste my response to a similar thread a month or so ago.

    Start paste:
I recommend putting all your mods (current and planned) into a spreadsheet to calculate how much weight you add to front/rear to help you figure out which coils to buy. That's what I did.

For the roof rack, I did a 30% front 70% rear split on the weight. For the skids, I did 70% front and 30% rear. Bumper/winchwas 100% front, sliders were 50/50, and spare tire carrier was 100% rear. Don't forget to take out weight you plan to remove (like factory skids and crash bar for bumper).

Once I knew how much weight I had added or planned to add front/rear, I used the info on Exit Offroad website to pick my coils based on desired lift height and expected added weight to get the right height, then ran my picks by @Crikeymike (the resident Dobinsons expert associated with Exit Offroad) for confirmation on my choices.

I just didn't see a "finish paste". Are you done, or just taking a breath?

Haha, I started to quote myself and link to the other thread but there weren't many responses. I just got lazy when making changes

Keep in mind that the advertised lift height estimates are for three-row 4runners. They are significantly heavier in the back than the two-row (the seats in the back are pretty heavy). So if you’re looking for an actual 2in lift at the rear for a two-row model, it might be best to round down a 1/2 inch.

I think the thought on diff drops is that they don’t really offer any benefit.

ahh very good point, thanks! It didn’t dawn on me that the third row was really heavy

Each seat is probably 40-50 pounds. Not insignificant especially when Exit Offroad calls out every 100 pounds drops the rear by about 1/4”
