I've been using this one for quite a while. It's a slider and a recovery point. I prefer using soft shackles most of the time so this works great for me. It also helps protect the spare tire.

I carry the harbor freight version in my recovery bag. Just as a means to hook up to the back of another rig if they don't have an accessible recovery point.

Get a steel one. I bought a fancy one that’s made of aluminum that has chamfered hole for soft shackles. It’s nice, but they get gouged up pretty bad when sliding over rocks. I’ll probably end up retiring mine eventually because it’s eventually going to wear thin.

The only thing is finding one that’s short enough so you don’t end up eating into your departure angle.

Since this topic is about grinding gears:
One thing that grinds mine is when other drivers stop in the entrance/ exit to a parking lot and are staring at their phone. While other drivers are stuck behind them wondering why this car isn't moving.

    Just park!

Haha, this reminds me of a conversation I had with a friend once. She asked what sound could be played to make people actually pay attention to emergency vehicles. I thought for a minute, then started singing some Luda...

Similar somewhat for me.......local restaurant.....gave us our drink cups....went over to get ice and drink and someone was filling their cup. Standing there waiting and he finishes then proceeds to stand there and drink and then refill. How friggin rude!.....I walked up and reached in front of him for ice then reached across him again and filled my cup. He didn't move....just stared at me! I thought to myself just say sumthin and I'm gonna open a 55-gal drum of chew-a$$ on ya!

People today seem completely oblivious to those around them, as if they are the only (or most important) person in the world.

It's annoying, no matter what they're doing

reminds me of shoppers anywhere. Just walking around at .5 mph, blocking isles with their bodies or carts in the middle. Get your shit and move. My wife takes 30-45+ mins to grocery shop, takes me 10-15 for the same stuff. I dont get it, move with a purpose and get out!

This tipping culture has gotten out of hand.

I called in and picked up food to-go. When I was paying, I noticed they automatically added a 30% tip to the total. Nope! Hell no!!!!

I will not tip that much if you didn’t come to my table every 5-10 minutes to check if we needed anything while we DINED AT the restaurant.

For to-go orders, I’ll pay a small percentage, not 30%.

It's weird now, almost any time paying with a credit card they ask for a tip, even if no service was provided other than the business itself

Absolutely right! This guy was bigger than me but that has never deterred me from pointing out how rude and how much of an a$$ they're being! Educating them might/might not make a difference but I do my part!

With the passing thing that you mention, ya, you betcha, this is common place, terrain is sometimes a factor, like uphill grades that are long like Cajon in Calif., then when to the top let 'er fly! That is what we used to refer to as: Dragonfly.. drag yur ass up the hill and fly down the other side! Have you ever ridden in a semi? It's NOT a bushel basket full of peaches and cream. Anyway, cars used to play that game about passing all the time, my point was that not alot of people "work" at being good drivers anymore, they seem more content being pricks and seeing how many people they can piss off... truckers are NO exception.... now days. As for NAFTA, don't get me started! Have a great day!

I need one of these at my house as well. Florida Power, in all their infinite wisdom (sarcasm) installed underground electric on one side of the street but not the other. When we have bad storms/hurricanes and power loss becomes an issue one side of the street is able to keep their power whereas our side does not. After the last round of Hurricane Milton and not having power for 4-5 days, I think it's time to invest in a whole house generator. I know those Kohlers come highly recommended although Generac is much more common. How big is your home?

Just an FYI, as of the end of last year Kohler energy has been rebranded, their new name is now "Rehlko", for now they are still selling generators with the Kohler brand name, but I assume in the future the brand name on their products will change.

my brother in law in NJ has a Generac and has nothing but trouble with it. Thats why I went with Kohler. My house is around 2100sf but is all electric with well water and heat pump.

My house is just pushing 900sf. I'd say this would get the job done. Likewise all electric, city water and a well pump for irrigation.
