I'm going to miss this place

Well, that was a quick 10 months. My 4Runner is gone. Okay, it still exists. I just don't own it anymore.

Back in February, we needed a car STAT! My daughter was home from college and was involved in a minor collision. Not her fault, but the car would be in bodyshop prison for a few weeks. She took my '06 Land Cruiser back to school... and I bought a '20 4Runner. I bought the 4Runner because I knew it would be easy to buy (there are lots of them) and easy to sell (lots of people love them)... and, I always wanted one.

I was open to keeping it. I really hoped it would grow on me. I did a little. But every time my daughter was home, I'd see the Land Cruiser and think, "yeah... I miss that old truck."

I play on a bunch of forums - 100 Series Land Cruiser, '84 Toyota Pickup, mtn bikes, road bikes... etc., and I know when we get rid of the thing that brought us to a given forum, we're supposed to just go away. But, I felt compelled to leave a parting note this time. This forum is pretty unique. Somehow you guys (and yeah, the moderators) have found that perfect balance - extensive knowledge, fun, irreverent, but welcoming vibe... without that Pirate4x4 ****head vibe where everyone who's not a certified welder driving a hand-built truck on 40's gets dumped on.

So yeah, I'm going to miss this place.

Who knows, I may be back at some point with another 4Runner, or just to piss off @Borracho Loco with pics of my '84 (still not selling it).

I appreciate that parting shot you took at me. This....this is why I will track you down, and steal that awesome 84' you got. Don't be a stranger! You don't have to have a SloRunner to be on this site. We even let those low-life Grenadier owners stick around.

 

I love my 4Runner and hope I'm never without it... but I would drop it like a bad habit in exchange for your LC, haha!

Wait. My FJ Cruiser was a real Toyota... and not the 100 Series?! Dammit. I should've never sold that one.

@Borracho Loco, you're on the short list if I ever sell the '84! And @jstam316, same goes for the 100.

I love my 2 4Runners but I’d trade one in for that nice LC.

 

Get in line for the LC yall, I called dibs first…

 

I really like your LC, except the overly angular bumper looks out of place on it.
