Woke up this morning to 16 degrees in the NC mountains and every dash warning light is on, and the dash screen is cycling through alerts. Video from iPhone won’t upload; screen shot here is just one of the warnings. ABS, pre-collision, blind spot, drive-start control. My 2022 ORP hasn’t been this cold before. Will this go away after the temp rises?

Do you live in an area where critters might want to get up into the engine bay? Wire chewing is their favorite pastime, and is a cause of multiple warning lights.

What a Christmas tree of lights.
What gear is it in? Did you attempt to change gear when this happened?

What a smart man would do is take it do the dealer and have them fix it. I am not a smart man.

If I woke up to this I'd probably warm it up and attempt to get it fully in gear. 2wd, or 4hi doesn't matter. Whatever it was in when you last turned the car off is probably the best bet. This may require driving a bit and shifting back and forth if needed.

Once in gear if the lights are still present I'd disconnect the battery and reboot the whole system.

One of the solenoids may have malfunctioned or the system is stuck between gears. Or the system isn't reporting all of the solenoids position to be in the correct spot.
All of these solenoids and position sensors have to work together in order to shift between 4High, 4Low, 2High. If something is not in the correct position you'll get a prompt like this on the dash.

16f too cold? this is like only minus 8 Celsius! so not too cold. I would let her warmup and shut it off, wait couples minutes and try again and See what happens. Mine already been in the 0F ( -30 c) no issue.

I agree that it is a critter issue. They’re having this issue in Florida as well. It’s got cold and rats are jumping in the engine bay to get warm.

Thanks. I drove a few miles and it acted normally. Will try disconnecting the battery first and go from there.

Ha! Yeah, we southerners don’t like the cold. I’ll try a few things before going to the local dealer. Thanks

Glad to hear it drives normally.

The other guys are right, checking for rodents is a very good idea. If your at a loss for the issue taking it back to the dealer is recommended. Hopefully its something simple!

They did a news report on it happening in Ft Myers. A repair shop said he advises customers to spray the engine compartment with a mixture of water and peppermint oil.

Local Toyota dealership in Boone (great folks) diagnosed a possible faulty left rear wheel speed sensor. Said its warning light can cause all the other warning lights also. Just enough uncertainty that it would solve the overall problem, so I declined the $475 replacement. Also talked to my local mechanic who said driving in slush can cause the issue. If the lights are still there when back in Atlanta, we’ll deal with it then. Thanks for all the feedback.

Interestingly, I had a similar issue just today as well. I was driving home in slush and snow and got the following errors:
    "Blind Spot Monitor Malfunction"
    "Rear Cross Traffic Alert Malfunction"
    "Drive-Start Control Malfunction"
"Braking Power Low - Stop in a Safe Place" (my favorite)
    "Antilock Brake System Malfunction"
    "Pre-Collision System Malfunction"

Headed to the dealer tomorrow. Will follow up with what they say.

Update: cranked it up in 16° and snowing, and the lights were off. Amen! Pulled out of the hotel and the lights came back on. Drove about a mile and the lights went back off. Yesterday I disconnected the battery waited about 10 minutes and reconnected it. Maybe the ECU is resetting itself. Toyota have self healing powers. :) Will give more updates later.

I can't imagine that was caused by the cold. It was -16f here more than one day last week and it started and ran fine. (as I'd expect it to). Just don't drive it hard until it gets a chance to warm up a little. I'd run codes and see what it's reporting.

The safety systems that utilize the front sensor will shut down when it is blocked. I've had the same experience when there is freezing rain/slush coving the sensor. Hopefully that was your issue as well!

Right rear wheel speed sensor was the issue. There were no signs of physical damage, but it was not responding to the computer. Replacing the harness fixed all the errors. ~$460 repair. Luckily it was covered by the 3-year/36k-mile warranty.

Similar quote at the Boone dealership, but I’m out of warranty. Took it to my local mechanic when I got back into town this afternoon and he could not clear the code because there is a short in the left rear wheel speed sensor. I’ll inspect it this weekend. It will have to be repaired. Thanks for the follow up.

Nah, it is not the cold weather. Mine has seen much worse in North Dakota. Something is wrong with the truck, rodents' work?

We have a resolution! I replaced the left rear wheel speed sensor and disconnected the negative battery cable for about 10 minutes. After driving about 150 miles, the light show is over! Went with the CarQuest sensor (part number ARC1067) from Advance Auto, $145 with on-line discount code. Dealership wanted $475. Thanks for all the feedback.
