RSG sliders, Yakima offgrid basket, Pro-Comp wheels, SOS Streamline bumper and skids, Warn VR EVO10S winch + Ultimate Sidewinder, Bilstein 6112 + 5100 + rear lift coils, Rigid Dually SS ditch lights w/Caliraised brackets and OEM style dash switch
    Completely unnecessary.

What possible purpose can that serve? It's so long, I wouldn't want to tow with it. And, it's useless for recovery.

They didn't even hit your ridiculous hitch hard enough to damage their own bumper. What makes you think they'd have pulled in hard enough to damage your bumper?

I don't like parking lots, and I don't trust other drivers. I generally park in the furthest part of the parking lot as far away from other vehicles as possible.

What really grinds my gears is that my refrigerator decided to bite the dust last night, when we are under a snow emergency so I doubt I can even find anyplace open today to shop for a replacement.

That's what we get for discussing that we should probably replace it soon right in front of it!

At least it's cold outside. Or, at least I'm assuming it is if you're getting snow. Maybe put everything in a cooler and put it outside for the time being. Not really convenient, but better than having it crap out in the summer. :notsure:

    Yep!

After the inital panic of waking up to find that it is dead, I've realized the timing is pretty good actually. We aren't supposed to get above freezing all week. So, we've got the most important stuff in coolers in the garage. At least we can take our time and find something we actually like rather than whatever we can get ASAP.

This accounts for SOME of the situations. What about when he/she finally completes the pass, some 5-6 miles later, at a blazing 10 mph under the posted limit, and then is able to get up to 5 mph OVER when you go to pass them?
This probably explains that. As for the language "barrier" thank you President Clinton. (NAFTA)

That's way too much leverage on the hitch receiver to tow anything heavy. And, I don't know what you could safely use that ridiculous hook for.

Also, that's how that grill is supposed to look.

    got-my-5th-gen-camaro-repainted-the-front-grille-and-trim-v0-j0a3igqrvbpb1.jpg

And, the hitch is too low to even hit the grill.

i dont tow anything heavy anyway.
Ive used it to pull bushes out, drag deer, my buddies dead atv down a trail and also pulled a S10 pickup that slid into a ditch last winter. And no, i didnt loop my recovery strap just on the hook even though rated at 7500 lbs

my bad, I thought that was the rearend of the camaro. Hard to tell with soem cars in a tight photo. But regardless, the driver didnt stop until he hit the tow hook. If the it wasnt there they would have stopped when the hit the 4runner. That is what i dont want happen to mine, its a great deterrent for tailgaters and a little protection for careless parkers.

Also it doesnt stick out as far as you think it does. From the edge of the factory receiver, it only extends 6 3/4” out on mine.

I don't care for tailgaters either. Fortunately I have pretty well trashed the rear bumper cover off-roading, so I'm not as concerned about parking lot issues. Plus I usually park way in the back where less people park.

I suppose dragging a deer with the hook sounds fine. I just wouldn't use it for recovery.

I wouldn't do this, either. But, whatever works.

I see Matt's Off-road Recovery using a tri-ball for recovery and shake my head. There's a right way to hook up a strap, and that's not it.

There needs to be a disclaimer on every episode telling people: Do not use these techniques!

I've taken two recovery classes now and both times MORR gets mentioned. And the instructor basically says to never do what is done on that show.

    It is entertaining though. :notsure:

I'm hoping our grid was updated since the "snowpocalypse."

The camping gear came in handy. But my friends and family weren't as lucky. Ended up having to bring everyone propane, firewood, food provisions and water. Shit turned into a full time job since apparently I was the only one in the family who was prepped for a power outtage.

Money well spent, especially if you're in an area that experiences a lot of outages! I've installed a bunch of standby generators, and Kohler makes some of the best ones.

Got one when I bought 1st 4runner in 2018, Haven't had to use it yet. Keep it in the box by Sub woofer in back.

thx and glad ti hear I made the right brand choice. My area is the craziest for outages. It could be a beautiful sunny day just windy power go out, we could have an ice storm and high winds power might dip a little, then we might have heavy rain power goes out. Its so unpredictable and I got tired of hauling the portable generator around plus not having heat or AC. Now I hope it goes out just to see it work. Haha!

Can't be any worse than my neighbor that burns his used motor oil and plastic?

Mine has been used to pull me back, as a winch point for others, and doubles as a bit of a skid plate coming down steep rocks. It tends to get pretty nasty on a good outing. :D

I just thought of a "good" thing to say. Carrier is an awesome HVAC system!
