I bought a Gen5 in April 24 before they were no longer available, I had a 2018 SR5 base that had been in an accident and I wasn't happy with the repair. My logic buying another Gen5 was I could always get the Gen6 but once the Gen5's were gone I couldn't get a new one. I'm not sure I like the Gen6, looks too much like the Tacoma. I got a pretty good trade and now I have a 2024 SR5 Premium nicely equipped and under warranty.
Anyone else buy before they were gone?

Traded in my nautical blue '21 Off Road for a '24 solar octane Off Road at the end of July that I waited 4 months for. Wanted a unique color and the final year of the 5th gen.

I got super lucky. Mine was built in August 2024 and I took delivery at end of September 2024 ORP.

I got the windows tinted, Xpel the front end, and fluid film the frame, drove home, waxed it, covered it for winter with 31 miles on the clock. Comes out in April

I know I bought my 21 and felt a sense of relief that I got one before they were gone lol.

When prices were crazy on used ones, I briefly considered trading and getting a newer one, but mine still felt too new, and I was already happy with how I had mine set up.

These are the last of the good old days with the 5th gen. I’m sure the 6th gen will have its day as well, but it will take a while, just like it did for the 5th gen.

I bought a used '24 SR5 on Nov 30th. I've already got canvasback cargo liner ordered and Santa brought floor mats.

I've got a few more items on the to-do list:
    - Underbody woolwax
    - window tinting
    - ceramic coat
    - roof rack crossbars
    - rear window molle panels

I don’t think the 6th gen will “have its day.”

Toyota has done “jumped the shark” with the 5th gen.

All new vehicles by all makers being foisted upon the public these days are over-priced, over-complicated, unreliable junk compared to their previous gens / models.

I bought an 8/24 build date (last month of production) White PRO the second week of Sept. Was originally looking at a 250 Land Cruiser (Prado) but did not like the engine/motor
so I realized time was short to stay with the coveted 1GR 4R.

Traded a '21 Tacoma TRD OR for a '24 ORP. Wanted the 4Runner in 2021 but couldn't find one without ADM. Different story in May of 2024. Got what I wanted at a better price and did well on my trade cuz the 2024 Tacoma wasn't moving. I was curious about the 6th Gen 4Runner but I couldn't pass on the deal for the 5th Gen. So here I am with the truck I wanted and it might outlive me!

I was waiting on the 6th gen but the more I read about it, the less I wanted it. I decided to get the 5th gen instead.

How do I find out when my 24 ORP was manufactured?

Edit to add: mine was made 6/24.

Look inside the drivers door jam and you will see a plate mounted in there which should have the month and year stamped which is when it was produced.

I did it a little differently. About 3 weeks ago I bought a windchill pearl/redwood CPO used 2024 Limited with only 1031 miles from a Toyota dealer in another state. It was $52k, excluding our Arizona tax and registration. Almost 2.5 years of factory warranty left on it plus the Toyota CPO Gold warranty. So, basically an as-new 2024 Limited at a discount.

Yup, picked up a 24 TRD PRO in Terra in October. Put my name on the allocation in July/August once I saw the 6th gens and knew the TRD PRO for the 2025s would be close to 70k (used the 2024 Tacoma pricing to gauge the 6th gen pricing).

22-Nov-2023 I traded my 2018 TRD OR W/66k miles for my 2023 TRD Pro. Wasn't sure if the 2024's were gonna be Gen5 & I wanted the Ice Cap like my 2018 was.

Thanks my plan is to only drive in nice weather (avoid rain too if possible). Plan to use for fishing/towing my boat and recreation in April-October’s and store in winters. I am hopeful to get 20 years plus from it not being a daily driver

Got the 24 pro for 56k figuring the last year on the 5th gen and the last trdpro color would be a investment. Well It paid off traded it on one year later with 30k on it they gave me 53k for it. Not bad to rent a pro for 3k for a year With the LC250 now in garage I can now actually pass other vehicles. It was crazy what the market for the Pro was in Decmeber, more amazing how much it dropped in one month. Went from private party sale of 54k to 60k to now dropping 8k in value in Jan. Guess I made the switch at the right time.
