Talk about off-topic. But since this forum is pretty much my only social media, here goes.

Hi, guys and gals! I am looking to replace a mattress I bought about 10 years ago. In a nutshell, it's just worn out. I'm looking online, and am interested in an innerspring construction rather than foam. Saatva seems to get the best reviews for their innerspring mattresses, so I thought I'd ask and see if any of you have experience with this brand. If not, do you have a recommendation?

    Thanks.

    Oooh look, another mod.....
A lot of factors come into play when deciding on a mattress like: Do you want firm/soft/ultra soft/plush? Are you a side/back/stomach sleeper? Do you sleep hot and need gel cooling? Does it have to be a hybrid mattress so you can use it on an adjustable base? Do you need a max depth (Some mattresses are 16 inches thick!)

Yeah, I get all that. I'm more fishing for peoples' experiences with brands and opinions on quality.

I don't have brand loyalty, I always wait until President's Day to buy a new mattress. For some reason that's when they offer the best deals. Google it! I'm serious about that. I always go in person to the store to lay on the bed(s).

I have a couple of Tempurpedic medium hybrid mattresses. Not cheap. Very happy with them. One at my place and another at my mother's property for when I visit. Like others have said, do your homework and try them out.

There are three things you don't want to cheap out on. Tires, footwear, and bedding. The older you get the more it matters.....

Coil count is your friend, higher the better, as well as gauge of wire. I always had luck at Sears if there are any left!

If you drink enough, even an old couch is plenty comfortable.

We had a sleep number for many years, switched to a temurpedic black? I think? after about a year and a half, went back and got another sleep number. I typically like a little firmer than my wife and each side is independent so it's nice to be able to adjust the firmness to whatever we each like. Maybe after a day of skiing or lots of yard work I like to soften up the mattress for a night or two. It's not for everyone, but we really enjoy ours.

Those spring mattresses are so uncomfortable. Ikea 8 inches of foam!

I used to have a water bed but was too poor to buy a heater for it.
Used a sleeping bag as an insulator. Man, that thing was fun!
