Hello, I am a new member here as my wife and I just purchased a 2022 4runner. I own a 2013 FJ so I’m fairly experienced with this platform. Her 4runner had a wreck reported from Carfax (deer strike, crashed into a ditch) that resulted in the Toyota dealer installing new alignment tabs and a lower control arm, and I also noticed the front engine skid plate was new. All of this was found before I purchased it so I’m not surprised and it’s not like they got one over on me. I took the skid off once I got it home and noticed that this crash bar seems to have been cut off, I’m assuming it got pushed in after running off the road. Does anybody know the part number for these crash bars? I notice that most aftermarket skids remove these entirely, but I’d like to have it since we’re keeping the new OEM skid. I looked and looked at part diagrams but could not find the correct one. Thanks in advance!

Maybe ask a few Toyota-focused 4x4 shops near you to keep their eyes open for bars that are removed during a skidplate installation? They probably toss quite a few in the scrap metal pile.

That’s a good idea. I also have been looking for a reason to upgrade my FJ skids so maybe I’ll give her one of mine lol

the good news is that without the crash bar it will be super easy to reach up and remove the valance clips

Have you noticed the alignment plates on the LCA bolts? In the first picture it looks like the alignment slipped pretty bad. Almost as if the bolts weren’t tightened. Might be worth aligning again and then verify the LCA bolts get properly torqued with weight on wheels.
