Hey all - looking into remote start for my 2023 SR5P 4runner and seeing mixed reviews on a few different options. Upon looking over a few threads and websites, it looks like the Start X, Accesorides, and 12V are sort of the 3 main aftermarket kits, but wanted to see if I could get some opinions in once place.

Planning to install this myself but not comfortable with wire splicing. So looking for true plug and play and curious to get people's thoughts/experiences. Thanks!

I have a 12 volt and will often get a no start so I cannot recommend them. If you have keyless start then your best bet is Accesorides since it keeps the engine running when you open the door.

I have the Accessorides! Plug and Play! Comes with instructions and have to follow close on removing items for the install. Works perfect and keeps running when I open the door! Took me bout an hour and a half to install.

Do you have remote start with the Toyota app? If so, you might already have it.

I had 12 volt and sometimes my car wouldn't start. If I disconnected the battery for a while it would work well for a bit. This sucked because it stranded my wife one time and then the 4runner just decided to start after an hour.

I removed it and had a dealership install a factory remote start. About the only mod I didn't do. Works well.

Did you get it installed somewhere or self install? In my area, installers include Best Buy or audio shops.

Gotcha. My dealer offered Karr but it’s just an extra layer of security.

I'm pretty darn happy with the Accessorides with Takeover so far. Installation was easy, followed a YouTube video for the disassembly. It's all pretty straightforward.

I just installed a Fortin with a two way remote, lets me know if the car completed the command or not, I can start from 200+ meters away
