These are going to sell just fine, you'll see. You guys are a bunch of haters. Lol. The 5th Gen body style has not changed in sooooo many years, although still a nice looking vehicle but a bit dated. "Antiquated" is how Car and Driver mag recently described the 5th gen. Change is difficult to accept, which is obvious by some of these posts I am reading, but this new 6th gen looks way more modern than the 5th gen and it has more power.

    Use this picture.
You can see the fender is its own self just like the current model
You can see the fender flare its its own self just like the current model
You can see what appears to be 3 "steps" in the front bumper, the grille, lower grille, and side skirts of the bumper. I almost think this is just like our current models and the whole lower half of the bumper clips on in one piece and then the upper grille sits in.

If you had to remove it you would
    1) pull fender flare
    2) pull upper grille
    3) unclip and unbolt lower bumper cover
    4) pull entire lower bumper cover off in one piece

Seriously? People should be responsible for their actions. If we go by your "logic", gun makers should be held responsible for evil people killing ,or car makers should pay for drunk driver's poor choices. We don't live in a socialist country. People need to be held accountable for their actions.

Looks like two Tacomas from the same family had a baby and out popped the inbred child. Seriously, it looks like Toyota just took the Tacoma and had the 4Runner as an afterthought.

Comparing the Tacoma special event from Hawaii (big party, lots of journalists and bloggers, private test track, good food, etc.) vs. the 4Runner reveal, that is definitely how it went down.

They designed the Tacoma first, and put all thought into that. Then designed a different shell around the same vehicle and called it done.

During the Tacoma event, nobody realized they were also looking at the new 4Runner.

Dave, you may consider taking that last sentence out, just like I did. Around here, the “P” word can get a person put in time out. Just my .02.

Ugly as hell. Not surprised though. The latest generation of the tundra is ugly as well. I’ll be sticking with my 24 4R and 17 Tundra.

Why did you include the picture of the 3rd gen Tacoma platform here?

Hey does anyone remember the FUGLY station wagon from the Chevy Chase movie “Vacaction”? Maybe the 4Runner 6th gen designers were influenced by the styling of that vehicle? They be like- Let’s see how fugly we can make it.

I don’t feel as though the 6th gen design will age well, like our 5th gen’s have.

Toyota laid multiple dud eggs with the new Tundra, Tacoma, and 4Runner. Mechanically, and cosmetically. IMO, anyway.

And then, you can add OVER PRICED on top of all that with these aforementioned vehicles.

Is the Scout going to be EV only? On the first page of this thread the bashing of the 6th Gen. starts, comparing it to a Scout... hopefully this is for exterior and interior purposes, because comparing an EV to a turbo 4cyl. is silly. Where are all the charging stations in a rural setting that thousands of people live? We tried to "map" out a trip to Canada with my friend's Ford EV pickup, very difficult at best. I agree that the new 4Runner is, is a, different, front end is horrible, but don't leave out the rear. 4Runners have a 'vortex' in the rear end making them a dust/snow collector, and the plastic grills on the taillights are going to be hard to keep clear. I would like to see one though, everyone looks at the same vehicle, but we all see it a little differently!

I just can't get over how expensive these things have become. Why are people continuing to pay and get in debt for these things. I don't get it.

you do realize your view of expensive is your are comparing to previous years. a relatively new car buyer doesnt understand the prices from 5-10 year ago vs what they see now. and dont start on used car pricing is worse than new car pricing.

when i bought my 14 4R Limited, it was discounted down to 41k before trade in. look at pricing on a 24 Limited (49k for a base limited w/o DPH) and its nuts compared to back then. so its all relative to each persons point of view.

I'm curious how trade in values have compared to new vehicle prices over the last 4 years.

They will have an option with a gas engine for extending range.

Use my roof rack a lot. That's crazy pricing for two cross bars. Slightly cheaper than Thule tho.
