Checkout the carryover and nod to the 5th Gen and the sexy Dunlops.

Not a fan of the navy blue interior. This is a Toyota, not a Ford. Looks to me like an SUV version of the Tacoma.

The lower Hulk-stache looks like a body-color bull bar. Too many things happening on that front end, and the overall impression is a Pilot taking extra testosterone. Like the Tacoma, at least when you paint the oversized fenders it reduces the bro-dozer effect by 10-20%.

I may be in the minority around here, but I prefer a Toyota home-office interpretation of what an American off-roader should look like (gen1-gen5) over Detroit/California’s home-cooked Gen6. Like, nobody ever expects a 911 to look like a Corvette, and that’s totally alright.

I sought out the Underground color to ensure I had the only 5th Gen model year with that color available.

Maybe it will grow on us. Remember the Ford Taurus of the 1980s nobody liked those and then everyone had one.

when 5th gen came out wasn't it unpopular due to the looks? And then we had the face lift making the front better, in my opinion.

There are plenty of plain-Jane SUVs out there. Whether you like or dislike the design, this 4R isn't plain-looking.

Look that stupid, pronounced grooves on the rear bumper.. that pattern + reflection in the tailgate is overpowering.
wtf was Toyota designer thinking? What would be the purpose of those grooves? Lateral traction for your butt, while sitting on it at the trail head? lol sht designers

I think the design intent was to collect as much dirt and road salt as possible to help rust out the bottom of the hatch. :D
Most likely they were trying to make it look rugged and tough. That seems to be the theme with most trucks and SUVs lately. It’s lame.

even the back end looks bulky af on the sides. And the giant handle-looking piece across the center.

I wonder if the designers were forced on some of these designs by management, or if designers are really that bad at what they do?

And do they get depressed reading the forums for feedback? Haha

This design makes the rear end look like it comes pre-dented.

Really tight work on a seamless integration of the dash. Exactly what I want to see from the driver’s seat. Said no one ever. IMG_4472.jpg

It's basically a bulkier SUV version of the Tacoma. Gonna take a hard pass.

You can get a ticket for holding a cell phone in your hand but screwing around with one of these screens while driving…..well no problem. Classic!

I can hear the case now where the defendant says well I am awfully sorry for your pain and suffering, I was just innocently scrolling through pages of Sirius Xm stations to find the CMA awards

Murder by accident and by being reckless is murder, there is no excuse for it. Rear-ending someone and dislodging their spinal discs should be considered a crime. Enough of this BS, we need new laws.
