    For a 2024 TRD ORP:

Is there a way to put the fog lights on its own switch? I want it to turn off/on independent of the headlights.

Goal is to only have the headlights on by themselves (without the fog lights) when it’s dark and dry (not raining). Then I’d like the option to switch on the fog lights ONLY when it’s foggy/raining in addition to the headlights.

Would something like the “Brite Box Anytime” do this? I emailed the company but haven’t heard back from them.

edited to clarify: I’m installing amber SS3 fog lights. I want it to only turn it on when it’s foggy/raining. I don’t want it to automatically turn on when I turn on the headlights.

There is a switch on your 4Runner. Owners manual, check out fog lights. Or just look for the fog light icon on the light switch. Should be a ring.

Brite Box will do what you are trying to do. I'm going to get one soon. Some days it would be nice to run fogs only.

I don't get it...my fog lights don't come on automatically when the headlights are turned on, I have to turn them on with the stalk switch. Is that different for the 2024 models? I also have SS3 fog lights...

This is what you are after. Brite box anytime. Option 2.
    2021-2024 Toyota 4Runner

On the 2021-2024 Toyota 4Runner the low beams will stay on but the fog lights will automatically shut off on high beams. Choose from 2 different options to control your lights the way you want. See options below.

Option 1: The Brite Box Fogster - will automatically turn fog lights on when the high beams are activated

The Brite Box Fogster model is FULLY AUTOMATIC with no additional switches or controls to operate, but by using your existing factory high beam switch to activate the effect.

Option 2: The Brite Box Anytime - gives you full control of your fog lights. This kit will allow you to turn your fog lights on in any light setting such as no headlights, with daytime running lights, and with high beams.
The Brite Box Anytime REQUIRES A SWITCH to turn your fog lights on at any time. When purchasing The Brite Box Anytime, it will include a Universal Switch (with a Blue LED). Upgrade to an OEM Style Push Switch here or a switch panel to control your lighting here

For general product questions or wiring The Brite Box Anytime with an 8 switch control panel or other similar systems please contact the manufacturer (Aspire Auto Accessories).

I read the manual again and figured it out. There’s an inner dial on the stalk switch that controls it. I read the manual when I first got the 4R, lots of info but not everything stuck.

If you have the fog light stalk switch, maybe it's set to on. That means they would come on when you turn on the headlights. If you turn that switch to off, they won't.

You can easily use a H11 wiring kit to have your fog lights turn on and off independently.

    This kit comes included switch-

Or if you want oem style dash switch you can buy separately as well.

I personally use this dual switch so I save space on my dash having 2 in one slot-

I went the easiest route with my PIAA 520 Yellow fogs mounted behind the lower grill.
Just an independent separate switch and relay.

    Great ideas here.
When modifying electrical there are basic " Must Dos".
Fuse all new wires. Use relays for all powerful draw items-fog lights qualify.
If new switches desired -decide: "always on" or "on when ACC on" or "Engine on".
Protect wires & connections with shrink tube wrap, tape wrap, wire loom tube covering etc.
If in doubt post your intended wiring idea or sketch to get valuable feedback.
    Wiring fires can be expensive.

Some states, VA for example, require low beams on if fogs are on. Dumb but required. So if on a switch need to make sure the set up will pass the state annual inspection.

That’s exactly what I sent you. The fog light on/off switch. When it’s foggy and rainy, you naturally want all the lights on. When it’s clear, you only need the headlights. Am I right? Why is everyone overcomplicating this?

I did exactly what you’re describing. Ran it to a Auxbeam Switch. It’s a good option especially if you’re going to add a light bar or ditch lights. I put in the Diode Dynamics extreme fog lights and love that we can just turn those on.

That switch is for your auto dim high beams.
