Are there actual specs…

Okay so I’m trying to track down some actual specs on the 25’.

Here is the problem. Family of 4 but travel with an insane amount of stuff especially in the winter.

Currently have an 18’ pro with aero bars and an thule xl on the roof. But ideally need the xxl.

Don’t love the idea of moving away from 4Runner. Sequoia has a bigger roof but interior space is weak at best.

    so question is:

are there any dimension specs out there on 25’s. Specifically cargo and roof length.

    bonus question:

is it possible to order a pro with no Sun roof?

    thanks for the help!

Can't help with the primary question but I can field the bonus:

There's no configurator available yet for the new 4Runner so we have no choice but to guess or go off of rumor but I will be surprised if any mid-upper trims are available without a sunroof.

That said, I saw a blurb of Trailhunter not having a sunroof available so I might be completely wrong.

Thanks I saw that same trail hunter rumor so I was curious if there was anything mentioned about a pro available the same way.

In the past, sun roofs are dependent on the market territory it's shipped to.

For example, out west in CA, you couldn't get an OR Pro without a sunroof. But other territories had them, so the dealer would have to find you one.

With the 6th gen, there are nine trims, so I'm not sure if they same will apply.

Also, the 4Runner is nearly an exact copy of the Tacoma, so whatever specs you're looking for, could probably just look at Taco specs.

If you just take the time to watch Trailhunter videos, you'll see it has no sunroof.

And if you look at Taco specs, no sunroof for Trailhunter

I don’t think the pros have come with out a sunroof in the past, and I doubt they will in the future.

They are out there, quite a few years ago when the TRD Pro first came out.

Does anyone have any idea what the towing ratings (especially hitch weight) are for the 6G models?

Does the Pro come with those ridiculous leg room killing seats that the Tacoma comes with? If so it might not be the ticket for a family vehicle.

i am thinking its probably the same as the new tacoma. i know the older tacoma had like a 6500 tow rating so i am hoping the new one will be 6500.

my 14 limited has like a 4700 rating

The new 2024 Tacoma didn't get increased tow rating over the previous gen, so I doubt the new 4runner will get a bump from its current 5000 lbs tow rating.

Looks like Toyota hasn't published actual specs yet. All signs point to the 6th gen having worse cargo capacity than the 5th gen (based on the LC250).

Towing capacity is increased to 6k, from the official Toyota site. No word on tongue weight, but it should be 600 lbs (just like the 5th gen should be 500 lbs, but there's no official word on that either).

And you didn't ask this, but if it was me and my kids with that much stuff, I'd be thinking about a previous gen Tundra / Sequoia or a Sienna / Grand Highlander (depending on the expected on vs. off-road mix). All of the trucks seem a little worse in interior layout for stuff.

It appears that the back seat legroom has gotten smaller and the rear cargo area deeper. I haven’t seen any official measurements yet though. Losing rear legroom sucks for snow sports. My kids put their gear on in the backseat. It would also be nice if it gained some interior width since the overall vehicle is wider but I suspect it’s all done with wheel offset and fender flares. I agree with the poster above that the previous gen sequoia is the best family hauler. The new one looks great but the rear cargo area is useless.

Makes sense the rear would lose space, because the large battery under the rear seats.

But is it really that big of a difference? A little loss off the bottom.

Calling the rear cargo 'useless' is ridiculous. Lmao

I bet I can fit just as much camping gear and groceries back there as I can on my existing 4runner.

Does the gas only model at least have a storage space where the battery would be in a hybrid?

We're talking about the Sequoia. The new one has less storage than the current 4Runner, which is ridiculous for a vehicle of that size.

If this is in response to me then yes I was talking about the Sequoia storage being useless and it’s clearly shown in that photo.

The new Sequoia is such a fail. I was kind of excited when it came out, but after seeing the reviews and the interior, not impressed at all.

Also, the sales numbers must be absolutely horrendous, because I'll go a month without seeing one. Meanwhile, I see Tahoes and Expeditions everyday.

It’s even more of a dumpster fire when the third row is folded down. Talk about useless.

The reach over length and height to put something on top of the deck is insane. Whoever designed this has never loaded anything into an suv before.

yah that would be a big pain, especially for a shorter person. They would have to side load it probably.

Yeah. Unless you need a minivan that can tow 8,000 lb or whatever, I really see no reason to buy this vehicle. Which, like I said in another post, tracks because I hardly see any of them. I see way more first gen Sequoias still running around than the new ones.

Sidebar, first gen Sequoia is still the best. Sequoia.

I remember when they first announced the new Sequoia, I thought that them going back to the solid rear axle and adding the TRD off-road option would make this the new overlanding vehicle of choice. I saw some parts companies build some, but I haven't seen any actual overlanders use one.

Grand Highlander is just a much better choice for a people mover.

Especially in context of taking family trips or weekend outings with heavy tote bins and coolers.

This also leaves so many ways for liquid spill get into the lower deck nooks and crannies. Yikes

There is a reason why people are buying 60k-80k Tahoes like crazy still. I just can't see anyone but a Toyota die hard buying the current Sequoia when GM still makes the V8 GMT1XX platform SUVs.

I was driving next to a TRD Offroad Sequoia this morning. It looks great other than the low chin spoiler. It’s such a shame that the storage is so bad.
