Someday I am going to read my manual.
I drove out to east county San Diego yesterday to do a little target
    shooting in Shelter Valley.
I always stop at Santa Ysabel and buy myself those little chocolate donuts
in a pack and and orange juice for the remaining part of the drive.
Eating donuts and drinking orange juice while driving is not an easy task especially on the winding road up to Julian and down Banner Grade, I kept hitting all kinds of buttons on my steering wheel setting off beeping and buzzing while driving.
Someday I'll have to figure out what all those buttons and icons are for!
(Hey, I'm coming from an 06 Tacoma that didn't have all that shit)

I bet that means you'll start reading instructions to things too before you use them.

    I say pfffft!

The only button you will regret finding by accident is the driver eject button. You cant unpush that one

Why? According to the wrapper it is a good source of fiber. The wrapper tastes like the rest of the sandwich. Eating the wrapper also recycles it.

The person that decided this warning is necessary has dealt with one too many idiots. I get why they do it. Hell, if you look on Tide pods or dish washing pods they say "DO NOT EAT".

Perhaps it is time to remove some of the warning labels so the gene pool can clean itself up. :crapstorm:

Dude, I totally agree. Let natural selection run its course and let people lessons the hard way, like I had to when I was growing up! My daddy never stopped me from sticking a fork in the light socket. Mom tried though.

He stopped her and said "No, let him figure it out on his own."

....when I woke up 2 days later, I never did that again.

I have to admit I laughed on reading this! Serious lesson though - at least with AC you can let go of it immediately.

Got it back recently from a buddy that broke it down and cleaned it for me.
Dropped it in the sand out at Ocotillo Wells during a wind storm.
Other gun is a Winchester Wildcat .22 with a Red Dot. First time I got to shoot it.
Great little gun for plinking. Red Dot scope shot straight right out of the box!
Bought the .22 for my wife to learn on and for my general good fun gun!

donuts and driving got me to thinking about my first car in high school which was a 1967 VW type 3.

I discovered very early in my driving career eating jelly donuts and driving a stick shift was challenging, potentially messy and for the safety minded driver, not recommended.

The machinations of the steering wheel buttons are difficult to decipher even with the manual. The “meter control” switch controls more than two dozen settings hidden under seven category headings. And the steering wheel controls for the radio defy common sense. It’s nice to get some confirmation from the manual. “No, I’m not crazy. They really meant it to be this way.” There are entire threads dedicated to the radio controls.

It was that sky, baby blue color. Parents bough it a couple months after I was born in the fall of 66 as a 67 model year. Spent my early life in that car and bought it from Dad when I was 16. Drove it through college, just shy of 300K miles.

Looked like this one except without the Venetian blinds, lol:

My dad bought my 2 older brothers brand new Square Backs from an Engineer that had bought them in Germany and had them shipped to San Diego
with the intent on selling them. Those were very cool back then, I still remember how to remove the engine hatch in the rear compartment. My 2nd oldest brother
ended up having 3 square backs in his early driving years. His 3rd was a beautiful yellow, I should have bought that from him when he sold it.

That's very cool. Dad taught me to do all the maintenance. It was like a tinker toy, everything was serviceable. Can't count the number of times I adjusted valves and balanced the airflow between the dual Solex carbs. Weak link was the brake system. It ate master cylinders.

Most of them developed oil leaks and burned to the ground starting with the rear hatch.

As I grew older and retired that car I always wanted the notchback version with intent to turn it in to something like this:

My older brother was such a fanatic with his 3rd and last square back that he never opened the glass side vents to the front of the roll down windows.

My bug caught fire on the freeway and burned to the ground. I had left the oil cap loose and it blew off resulting in oil spraying out of the fill tube.
I didn't see the fire until it was too late, I still remember people on the freeway driving past me waiving trying to tell me my car was on fire . I thought they were
    just being friendly.

I loved those wing vents. I love the heater in that car. Right off the engine with a vent lever front and rear. You could burn yourself on the vents if you weren't careful.
