Toytec or Eibach lift

Looking to get a 2-3” lift installed. Anyone have experience with Toytec or Eibach stage 2?

 

No first hand experience with either, but I’ve seen approximately 32 trillion complaints of Toytec shocks bending the uprights or leaking, but I can’t recall seeing complaints of problems with Eibach.

 

I have the Eibach and really like it. Came in right at 2.5” front and 1” rear in total. Gave it a nice look and my dog can still jump on the back.

I personally don't have experience with ToyTec, however, I've seen multiple reports of them bending or having issues. I've also heard that since one of their main employees left and started Running 4 Tacos, that they've really gone downhill. Not sure if this is true, just what I've read in different places online. Maybe check with running for tacos (R4T), to see what they can set you up with.

When I chose a lift, I ended up going with the Eibach Pro 2.0 myself, though I haven't installed it yet. It was a combination of the lifetime warranty and great user reviews that made me choose this kit. I also thought the price was reasonable, and I like that you can adjust the coilovers while they're on the vehicle.

 

I’m really leaning toward the Eibach Pro 2 lift. Can you adjust up to 3” in the front?

 

I imagine if you went up to 3” in The front you could use a 15mm spacer in the rear to level it out.

 

With my experience spending lot of time there almost everyone take advice from that person who left. I felt like it was that one man running the show. Not sure how things are going now since I no more go there. I go to running 4 tacos now.

 

I think so, but you really don't want to go up that high on one of these. I plan on keeping mine set at 2" even.

If you DO go 3", plan on adding aftermarket UCA's and having very little down travel left.

 

It must be the quality of the light because it looks more like that wonderful green metallic the 2nd gen Tacoma's had. For suspension, I went with Bilstein 5100's front and back, Eibach 1" rear springs and Toytec/Eibach 1.6" front springs. For sure a budget lift, but the ride is nice and there is a lot less nose dive under braking.

 

I had Eibach Pro Lift Stage 2 installed in February to replace LTD factory setup. It added 2”, improved stance and did away with nose dive when breaking hard. I think the ride is better than factory. I recommend Eibach.

 

I have the Eibach 2. Love them and have no regrets. Paired it up with Toyo open country AT3s.

 

I'm pretty sure Toytec and Eibach are hand in hand. Alot of the Toytec stuff uses Eibach springs.

 

I have done a lot of searching on this toytec lift for the Pro with the Fox suspension. Have not found anyone that has added it on. Most have done the westcott lift for the Fox suspension. Anyone with a Pro that has this installed?

 

Gonna need more than 15mm spacer in rear if going 3" up front. I'd say 1.5" for rear. But again, I wouldn't recommend going 3".

 

I have a pro. Already has an inch in front added the Eibach springs and have me a 2.75” lift in the front. Really depends on your setup. Typo error

 

What exactly is a "2.3.75" lift"?

 

I have eibach stage 1 lifted on the second clip in the front and added a 1/2 in rear spacer on rears. Its about a 3.2 and 2 lift i believe it was and gets rid of alot of nose dive and body roll. I also got SPC upper control arms for the alignment with that high of a lift paired with 285 KO2's and have zero regrets.

What size tires are you running?

 

That photo was on 265/70s. However, I’m now on some painted OEM trail wheels and will be going to 255/80s as soon as I can.

 

My Toytec coilovers are the Eibach 620 lbs. Toytec doesn’t sell these particular coilovers now. They’re nice & I highly recommend any Eibach/Bilstein coilovers. If you do want to buy from Toytec, call them first. This on my taco - Eibach 620s/5100 Bilsteins - 265s & SPCs

Almanac says Denver is going to get an average winter. They say were getting the rain/sleet/snow this weekend

 

Long winters are one of the reasons CO isn't on my short list for retirement. I suppose someplace like Salida would be OK, but I like longer hiking seasons.

 

I have the Eibach pro truck lift, springs and shocks. I ended up going with Ironman Pro-forge UCA's because they use the stock Toyota ball joint and requires no maintenance. I run a wheel with a -12 offset and 285s. I did do a BMC but I couldn't be happier with the Eibach setup.

 

Absolutely disgusted with Toytec. I purchased the Aluma Series 2.5 lift kit for my 2019 Toyota 4Runner in 2020, and after just 39,000 miles of light, on-road driving, one of the rear shocks completely FAILED. The piston shaft separated from the lower linkage—something that should never happen under normal driving conditions. When I contacted Toytec, I provided all the required documentation and photos, but their response was nothing short of insulting.

Instead of acknowledging the clear manufacturing defect, they insisted that the issue was due to "lack of maintenance" and suggested I rebuild the shocks every 35,000–40,000 miles—something I’ve never heard of for a product of this price. The audacity! They offered me a pathetic 20% discount on a replacement set of shocks, which still left me paying nearly $800 to replace a defective product. When I asked for a better discount, they refused, offering no real explanation other than the typical “we don’t stand behind our products after 1 year” excuse. If you're interested to know the rebuild costs, they range from $200 to $500 per shock.

After weeks of frustration and zero faith in their customer service or product, I decided to cut my losses and buy Bilstein shocks elsewhere—delivered the same week—at a fraction of the cost. I’ll never waste my money on Toytec again. Their products are subpar, their customer service is horrendous, and their warranty is a joke. If you value your time, money, and sanity, do yourself a favor and stay FAR away from Toytec. Total waste of money. Buyer beware!
