Another photo... That mounting bracket is not supposed to have that bend there

Should I heat it and rebend or buy new ones?

Thanks. The low profile is why I purchased it over others.

That looks very good. My steering wheel looked the same like yours and I bought a cover from Amazon. It works but yours is better. How long did it take and was it tedious or straightforward?

Not tedious or hard. Basically wipe the wheel down with a degreaser then rubbing alcohol. Tape the plastic parts off and apply the dye with a small sponge brush. I did 3 coats. I used a hair blow dryer in between to dry the coats. Entire thing was about an hour-but I had poor lighting. Taking off the steering wheel would make it easier to get to to the back side but I didn't want to mess with that. It's not perfect. There are some faint brush marks but I am very happy with it and would do it again. I got the 8oz bottle and plan on doing my front seat bottoms as the leather is a bit worn there too.

Yeah, I removed the allen screw on the front of the teton knob, but turning the knob to unscrew it was hard. I barely was able to unscrew one turn before I started to twist the top part of the shifter off the bottom part. Just not sure if there was anything else I was missing.

Not everyone favorite mod, but I am liking the darker trim vs the light silver.

What color did you opt for? My steering is the same color but my seats are beige leather. I also noticed, you have nicer meters than mine. Maybe a limited vs SR5 thing.

I had them look up my leather color. Mine is Dark Charcoal Black-same as seats for me. You send them your VIN and they will tell you. Mine is a Limited. I ordered a 8oz bottle, but for the steering wheel alone you can order the smallest size 4oz. More than enough. I only uses 1oz maybe.

Might I suggest that since you're wiring to a terminal block/relay that you just omit the connector altogether. Use Ring lugs to connect direct to the relay/terminal block.

I would carefully inspect the area within the bent zone for any signs of surface crack(s). None spotted? Carefully (slowly) rebend back flat and re-inspect. If you see any signs of crack(s) I would highly recommend that you discard and replace with new.

So the original battery on 2019 Limited is dead. Got a new battery.

    Lessons learned;

    1) Adding distilled water factory battery was a waste of time.
    2) Even though per Project Farm showed Yesper Jumper starter pack is really good it struggled to start the 4L V6 4runner engine. Hence returning.

    Only time will tell -
    • If the Walmart battery is good or not, but per Project Farm testing it was at the top.

I can't speak for others, but I've bought Walmart batteries in the past and never had issues out of them. Some people need the more expensive batteries for all the stuff the run (which is fine). But if most you do is drive to and from work, then the Walmart battery should suffice. But as the old saying goes: You get what you pay for.

Toyota of Murray Kentucky installed a Toyota 7 year battery in my daughters 2019 Rav4 for under $200. I didn't know there was a 7 year battery.

My service tech told me that by the time the factory Panasonic dies, most people won't keep their vehicle to see out the 7 year warranty on the battery. But to me, that's a good deal as its a no questions asked/not prorated warranty.

Just looked at the TrueStart battery warranty. Now have a 2nd thought. It looks very much like a Duralast basic battery priced at $194.99 at Autozone. Maybe I could have give TrueStart battery a try with the additional warranty (84month) only Toyota dealership gives vs Duralast basic battery only get 24months.

I've been buying the Walmart AGM 4 year batteries for a while now with good results. They have all gone at least the full 4 years and in AZ heat that is not a given. The one you purchased also has better cold cranking amps than the Toyota battery if that matters to you.
The other thing I like about the Walmart batteries is that if there is a problem when you're on a trip, there is usually a Walmart nearby to get an exchange. (Keep a copy of the receipt handy though)

I absolutely love to have a AGM battery. But Everstart AGM battery top label it did not mention how much charge it requires but based on other AGM batteries like Duracell, Optima I didn't want to take a risk my alternator not charging the battery where normally AGMs need 13.8+ V and my alternator only hover around 13.3-13.4v while driving per scanguage. Don't feel comfortable installing voltage boost in case it has impacts on other sensitive electronics.

84 month is prorated. 24 month replacement. " This comprehensive policy includes two years of free battery replacement, a prorated six-month warranty after those first two years are up, and two years of free towing to the nearest Toyota dealership in the case of a battery-related issue."

That is interesting. I have to admit I never gave that any thought. I just got an AGM and threw it in there. I'll recheck later today but I'm reasonably sure my alternator isn't putting out any more than yours. Either they don't really need that much or I've just been lucky as I have not had any issues with the AGMs over the years.

The Everstart in my 4runner has been great.

I haven't had the best luck with Duralast (in my other vehicles). I've had them go out before warranty so they get replaced, but they don't give you a 2 year warranty on the replacement. It's under the same warranty time frame as the first one. So if the second one goes out before 2 years but after the first one's warranty period, you're stuck buying a new one (which has happened to me).

What's interesting is Johnson Controls makes True Start, Duralast and Everstart (according to the internet). But that doesn't mean that they will all perform the exact same.

For future reference, the NOCO jump backs are absolutely top shelf. I had a cheap chinese jump back and traded up to a NOCO during the last Amazon prime sale. .... I got a GB50 for $99. NOCO makes a nice carrying case for it for another $20.

I put in the AGM since I have a winch (dual battery someday... and i will put the toyota battery back in). However I did do the voltage booster and have had no issues over the last 9 months. FWIW. The extra voltage is well within spec for any stock tech in the vehicle. Cheers.
