    I use Pennzoil Platinum often.

What makes the Ultra Platinum ultra?

Anyone has any experience using the Valvoline full synthetic high mileage Max Life specifically in any of their vehicles?
Thinking of trying something different from my usual M1 HM.

How many miles do you have? I am starting to use Valvoline Restore and protect. Was going to use Pennzoil Ultra Platinum but decided to go for the ones that supposed to help clean over time.

    Closing in on 200k soon.
I have heard Valvoline Max Life is particularly good for your seals etc.
I specifically use high mileage oil given my mileage. Pennzoil high mileage only comes in Ultra and not ultra platinum.

Pennzoil platinum ultra is the best rated for cleaning.

It is their flagship, with more moly, boron and more detergents.

Run Ultra Platinum for 5k miles and you are golden. I don't trust any oil for more than 5k miles. Going offroad can mess up any oil no matter how good it is.

I called Pennzoil and found out the maximum shelf life for this is upto 4 years, with storage conditions. So don't order like 20 jugs or something lol.
The date on mine says September 2024, so I will be good for a couple of years

“Oil is oil.” - Blackstone FAQs

Any oil of the proper specification that’s changed at appropriate intervals is fine. The oil you choose will not provide any significant difference in performance or longevity. Buying this or that oil may make you feel better but your engine doesn’t care.

If you can get 15 quarts of Pennzoil's flagship for $71 then why not?

Agreed. My point was the opposite, that there’s no benefit in paying a premium price. I buy Chevron Havoline’s 6-qt. box of full synthetic 5W-20 at Walmart for $24.97. (Don’t want to start a viscosity debate but I won’t use 0W.)
