    Hi I was in the middle of putting my break master cylinder on my 2003 4Runner V8 4wd back together and I found a shaft pin and don't have any idea where it goes I hope some one can help me

    Welcome. Post a pic of it. The brakes have a few pins and bolts. Could be the spring retainer pins or a caliper bolt with that description. Lol.

    As mentioned we can't help without seeing what the pin looks like, I just replaced my master cylinder on my 2004 a couple of months ago and maybe able to help if I can see the pin, and also it may help knowing exactly the size and where you found the pin!

    Is it a solid pin or a roll pin? There's a roll pin connecting the reservoir to the master cylinder:
