What have you done to your 5th Gen 4Runner today?

Installed my Greenlane OffRoad sliders, drivers side was a pain, took 1 1/2 hours, passengers side was a breeze, less than 1/2 hour. Torqued everything to 35 ft. lbs. Winch mount due in this Wednesday, that will be a fun project.

 

Added front/rear door speakers......Waiting for Amp kit to come in to add the Alpine 4 Channel into the Audi Control LC6 then wiring into speaker outputs of the stock deck. Sound difference with just the speakers alone is major. I can just imagine getting Amplified!

Already have a 10" JL Sub is the rear corner pocket.....

 

Gonna replace the tailgate speakers too?

 

Yessir...I wanted to see what the difference in door speakers first and I am so glad I did it.....

Picked up some of the rubber floor mats today via a local guy on the letgo app.. dang near gave them to me and beat the heck out of the carpet mats.
Should do what I need for a while, may upgrade to the allweather mats later

I dig them Bro....you were right, even with the stock unit driving the GTO's...It is a big improvement but still lacks more power without turning the volume closer to 50....

I am away this week but I will either install the 4 channel to LC6 myself or a shop next week. Can't wait to hear the difference once it is Amp'ed up....

I installed a 6" dome light from Superbrightleds.com in the cargo area.

TDLS-NW36-G: Natural White - Gray Finish

125 lumens, draws very little and lights up the whole cargo area.

Wired it to the driver side tailgate interior light. Turns on when I open the tailgate, also has a switch to turn on/ off.

Fits really nicely on the slanted part of the headliner. Attached it with two m4 16mm bolts. No cutting, just 3 small holes.

What increase did u get from the TRD CAI besides a better sound? I have the pedal commander and it makes a big diff when needed....Though abt CAI as it is CARB legal in CA

 

The great HP gain debate is still out there, you can definitely feel the difference and opening up on the highway is nice. I have a Pedal Commander as well and have it turned off for now just so I can test out the new system. I bought mine from a Nor Cal dealer online and here is a copy and paste regarding emissions compliance:

I am pretty sure nothing has changed in the engine bay for the 5th Gens for the TRP CAI and fitments.....If u really think about it, it's mainly suspension for different models or addition of roof racks......Double check with other threads with 5th Gens though.....I will probable pick one up in a few months.....

 

Thanks, I just dropped it off for clear bra and coating but will check the engine bay. I had the TRD Supercharger and CAI on my FJ and liked them. Disappointed they do not offer a TRD solution for the 4Runner but probably just as well as that lead to BBK etc. It never ends. I have other cars for that satisfaction, this is my surf mobile. Thank you for the response.

Warranty. Why it's TRD or nothing. My FJ's was installed at my dealer and it was flawless during my 10 years of ownership but I knew for the bulk of that period my FJ was under warranty. Thank you though.

 

It's all a personal choice my friend.....I believe there is a 3 yr Warranty with Magnuson though and i can also understand loyalty from TRD brands.

 

How much did you pick it up for? Any noticeable “improvements” so far?

Looks real similar to my Ready Lift. Actually the company that did mine told me that Ready Lift is the ones that make the TRD Pro lift.

 

Completely different unfortunately. What I'm looking for and pictured is for the front only. Thick spacer replaces the OEM lower spring seat on the TRD Pro Bilstein shocks, thin spacer is used on the top hat.

 

I did a leveling kit for my trail and don't think a Pro kit is any different except another 2 adapters for the rear struts....The fronts will always be the higher spacers vs the rears due the way the 5th Gens r built.....

 

TRD Pro shocks are different than the shocks used on any other model 4Runner. They're basically an OEM Bilstein 6112 The thick spacer is a spring preload spacer, not a top hat spacer. This video will explain it all.
