It just connects to the OBDII plug, my install is custom but it comes with different mounting options. The "TuRD is 2018. The scangauge 2 can read tire pressure, but needs to be programmed to do so.

So a question for all the soothsayers on here:

I was poking around the Rough Country website just to kill time at work, saw this item:

    https://www.roughcountry.com/product/speedometer-calibrator-90049

I've never used one of these before, but I'm curious if anyone else has. My main question is does the speedometer have to be removed or not? Couple vids I saw for the Tacos seem to suggest the speedometer has to be taken out. It's not something I'm afraid to do, but again, just curious. I know there are other makes out there (i.e. Hyperlink).

    https://www.amazon.com/Hypertech-730134-Speedometer-Calibrator-2019-2021/dp/B09X3ZTYTX?af=eyJ2ZWhpY2xlTmFtZSI6IjIwMjEgVG95b3RhIDRSdW5uZXIiLCJ2ZWhpY2xlIjoiMjAyMS03Ni0xMDA1LS0tLS0tLS0tLS0tLTEifQ%3D%3D&crid=3LOTCK9651B0V&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.kNr6xWhFDnflC4zL5pVkVO7hA19Vxo3A1mnOzjzZmtY.jGMvVKgbyLOLs8kbBPO0i01FXVN_PlZQQkg4RuLzfNM&dib_tag=se&keywords=speedometer+calibrator&qid=1731320337&sprefix=speedomter+cali%2Caps%2C109&sr=1-1&vehicle=2021-76-1005-------------1&vehicleName=2021+Toyota+4Runner

And if you curious about digital clusters, saw this in my rabbit hole searches:

The RC and Hypertech dongles are the same product. You connect the dongle to a laptop to program the dongle, and the laptop software is the same. Buy whichever is cheaper. The dongle plugs into the back of the gauge cluster, so yes it has to come out. Removing the gauge cluster is fairly easy (and it's a good skill to practice for replacing the easily-scratched plexiglas...):

Speedometer calibration is only needed for 35" and larger tires. Are you running 35s already?

The full-LCD digital clusters are like cheap tablets - they work 90% of the time. Support is effectively nonexistent, because both the hardware and software are developed in China. The distributors in North America can only do replacements.

So far I am really enjoying the ride. The 4Runner almost feels smoother going over the bumps on my commute to work. Curious to see what the hit to my fuel mileage will be but so far I am very happy with the tires. I also don’t notice any difference in sound on the highway.

These or Duratracs will be replacing the G2s on my PRO shortly. Let me know how you like them in the snow (if you get any).

Yes 265/70/17s load E. The aggressive sidewall really gives the tires the appearance of a much larger size I think.

I live just outside of Denver and travel into the mountains every weekend to ski. Will definitely give a snow update once I get a chance!

Added a ‘23 heated steering wheel to my ‘20 TRDORP. OldRed is the man when it comes to making wiring harnesses and is amazing with support if you need it. You won’t need it unless you’re a little slow like me!

You interested in selling your old steering wheel? Mine is worn pretty heavy on the top half so I'm looking to replace it.

I put some black fender flares on from Tyger Auto. Not super labor intensive, but worst part was putting the rubber gasket along the edge. Install was very straight forwards. I like the way it looks.

You have to remove a few factory bolts. The flares themselves set atop the factory once. Pre drilled holes let you reinsert those factor screws. Now, I did have to drill (using a 5/16 drill bit) to create a few extra holes. Not terrible -- quite easy considering all your drilling thru is plastic. Most of those are filled with with plastic inserts to keep them attached (think of plastic inserts to keep the radiator cover in place under the hood).

Edit: I forgot one import piece: the rear ones a little different. You do have to remove the OEM rear ones to allow those to attach properly. It's a little scary to remove them, but they prop right off once the screws are removed.

They look great! Trying to decide between these and Wildpeaks. Have heard great things about both. If anybody has experience with both, would love to hear your opinion.
