IDK. The RCI full skid package comes out a little cheaper for me still. Even with the shipping fees they charge. Unless I’m figuring it wrong.

What about import duties? How do those get charged if ordering from the US?

Not a "full pkg" unless it includes the T-case skid. The trans pan sits relatively high above the trans crossmember, while the T-case hangs low.

There's no "duty" due to NAFTA/MCA. Does your state charge sales tax for online orders placed from out of state?

NAFTA expired in 2020 (though replaced by MCA), yet I've seen multiple instances of buyers of Canadian mfg. goods who did have to pay duty charges.

    What is customs duty?
You’ll need to pay customs duty (or import tax) on any goods you move across the US border from Canada, though goods from some countries are exempt due to different international trade agreements. The United States Customs and Border Protection (CBP) enforces customs rules.

Customs duties vary by country of origin and type of product. You'll need to know the Harmonised Tariff Schedule or HTS code to calculate the exact rate due. CBP uses extended version of international HS codes — Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States Annotated (HTSUS).

The minimum threshold for import tax is $800. Goods valued below that are not subject to duty.

Maybe those who have purchased Greenlane body armor products, or Elka suspension can chime in on this subject.

I know from bringing goods into Canada from the States that's made in the States, there is no duty, only tax due USMCA. The same should be true with goods going the other way.

Not feasible for most people but I try to drive most of the stuff I order across the border myself and then whether you're charged tax or not depends on the mood of the particular border guard you run into.

    Thanks for weighing in.

The reason for this question is a post in the 4th Gen Tacoma section on TW where he got a bill for "duty fees" from FedEx after delivery of his Greenlane sliders to Minnesota:

+1 for full RCI skids. Steel all the way over here... had the stock skids and was fine for a while till I came down hard on something. Once. Even for weekend warrior-ing if this is your daily, wheeler, whatever, protect it

I received the Talons Garage KDSS skid for my 2019 last week and installed it yesterday. Quality product (no visible logo ;)) and installation was (mostly) a breeze. I wrote to Talons with my review and suggestions for instruction improvements, which I will post if anyone is interested. And/or photos.
