I saw the pix last week from the initial build, i sure wish they picked a different color. I absolutely despise how much stuff is going purple, what sort of psyop is it, so many aftermarket suspensions, and big builds, everybody doing purple. :puke:

They would've sold a LOT more 6th gens if this is what was offered.

Looks like a 2-door Chevy Tracker on steroids.

Always wonder why if Ford and Jeep think the take rates on 2-door models is enough to justify their production, why Toyota hasn't followed suit with the 4Runner. Just more conservative bean counters at Toyota?

WHY is this vehicle necessary in life? If people are going to use it for surfing, roll the back window down and insert surfboards. Problem solved.

Ain't buying purple ANYTHING as a gimmick to purchase a new car. Don't get me started on the waves on the front of this thing.

I think most reasonable people would just buy a Tacoma and put their surfboards in the bed and keep the sand and saltwater outside of the vehicle. :)

I must not be reasonable because I'd rather have this 2-door removeable top 4runner, or even the open air LC concept, than my 5th gen. Never been a fan of the bodyline step up under the rear side windows but it looks perfect with the roof off

It's a design exercise and like most SEMA vehicles by manufacturers, will most likely never be made. Unfortunately

thats my guess. Id also assume they would have to change up quite a bit of tooling and run two separate assembly plants/lines to produce? The other issue is the maintenance, the one imaged had "in house" long travel and I doubt the average consumer would benefit/enjoy that. OH and the 37's, for any off-road use, I'd assume they'd have to beef up the T-case, differentials, transmission, and try to milk more power out of the engine UNLESS they bring back the V8? That's a lot of new R&D and cost.

All that work and they created..... a two-door Tacoma.

That's how the OG 4Runners were back in the 80s. No not functional at all.
So what's everyone going to put on the dash? Pelicans? Penguins? Panda Bears? Porpoise? Beanie babies? Curious minds want to know....we'll not really....

The OG 4Runners were cool. This is a nothing but a convertible Tacoma.

Yea, the pickup and 4Runner have always been tied together. They will have to make that back seat more accessible.
I can see the billet trd suspension getting plenty of exposure with this concept, which would undoubtedly create a demand for an option on the Tacos and T4R.
I would also say the 37s aren't likely, and would probably need the hybrid torque to power them. Although having lithium anywhere near the surf seems counter productive.
I have to agree w the YT goofball, the front bar is silly, and it definitely feels like they're trying too hard with this one.
