Im a new member as of 11/03/24 and I’m interested in understanding the pricing trends for fully-loaded 2024 Toyota 4Runners across the country. I recently purchased a new 2024 Toyota 4Runner TRD Off-Road Premium, which includes a sunroof, KDSS suspension package, multi-terrain system, wilderness package, premium plus package, and USB multi-port. The MSRP was $52,003, but I was able to negotiate it down to $47,473. After adding tax, title, license, and documentation fees, my total came to exactly $53,000.( yes my OCD had to negotiate to an even number lol)

I’ve noticed that many dealers are listing these vehicles above MSRP, with some even adding fees totaling up to $2,990.00.

    Oooh look, another mod.....

As soon as you figure out the pricing trends for the 5th gen's, they'll stop being made & sold. Then you'll have to figure out the 6th gen's. I mean, who really cares what or why others pay for their truck. It's their money. Spend more, spend less.

You got a pretty great deal. Be happy with that and start enjoying your truck man.

I was going to respond, but I didn't want to make him cry based on how much less I paid for my 2019 when purchased new.

    Welcome.

Decent deal that you received for a 2024. You could get a better deal, if you had a Time Machine and could travel back.

Hey everyone, I appreciate the responses I know opinions can vary, and that’s totally fine. Just to clarify, I wasn’t really asking if I got a good deal; I was more curious about the overall 4Runner market across the U.S. I did a lot of research on dealer listings around the country, so I had an idea of the asking prices, but I wasn’t sure what people were actually paying.

I shared the price I paid not to brag or talk finances, but just to open up a discussion for fellow 4Runner enthusiasts especially those who recently bought one or are currently looking. The dealership I bought from mentioned that a lot of people were eager to buy the 2023-2024 models, supposedly because some 4Runner fans aren’t excited about the new 4-cylinder hybrid engine in the 2025s. I don’t know how true that is, but it influenced my decision to go with a 2024 model.

If my question came across wrong, I apologize! I’m really just looking to learn from others’ experiences. I was curious if dealerships in other areas were adding markups or extra fees. For example, mine initially tried to add $2,990.00 in fees for things like dent protection and paint protection, which took some negotiating to remove.

This is my first time joining a group like this, so I appreciate the insights and patience!

    Welcome to the forum, Ken!

Your question didn't come across wrong, I just helped derail it! My apologies!

Regarding the redesigned Tacoma and 4Runner, the sales will dictate whether the new models are a success or not. You will find a lot of opinions here regarding that. Personally, I'm keeping what I have. Because not only am I not excited by the redesign, but the prices!!!

This is my first 4Runner so I appreciate your input. I had an older Tacoma years ago that had the 4.0 liter V6 and I loved it. After some years I ended up buying a new 2020 Tacoma. After 13k miles I really disliked the motor and the transmission was so unsure of what gear it was comfortable in. I was lucky enough to sell it for more than I paid and jumped into the 2024 4Runner because I love the fact it has that bulletproof 4.0 liter motor.

Thank you all for your input. Retired LEO so I miss the connections with others that enjoy the same vehicles.

I bought my 24 ORP new right off the transport last June . Before we even sat down I told the salesman that if it didn’t come from the factory ( as in options ) I didn’t want it and wouldn’t pay for any dealer add ons .
    Worked out good . $45,000 even .
You did good OP. Enjoy your new ride and welcome .

It doesnt matter if you said you got 50% off the msrp, there will still be those that comment how they got a better deal. As long as you are happy, thats good enough. Overall tho i think you got a fair price. I have a 21 i bought last year, never plan to sell it, i love the dependability and simplicity.

Hate memory seats so thankful for that. Hey has a heated steering wheel so they was a bonus for the Arizona heat.

I'm thoroughly enjoying the heated steering wheel in my '24 ORP here in upstate NY at the moment. I'm not sure i'm enjoying it for $6k, which is the difference between what I paid for my '22 ORP and my '24 ORP.... but still, I am enjoying it.

Congratulations on your new rig, along with grinding the price down. I purchased mine on February 27th of this year. The discount I received was based off of a 5% reduction on Msrp. Had them remove the security system as well. That 5% or approximately $2,500 off Msrp not only gave me that warm and fuzzy feeling, but loosened up some mad money for any mods I might feel the need for. Welcome aboard Ken!
