It is driving me CRAZY. I am clueless how to turn that green light indicator off. I have received instruction on how to for previous years but not 2023. Help?

    Did you check your manual?
I’m sure it will direct you.
    Probably like earlier year models

You could put the transmission in S4. That light will go away...:p

Its in the small screen between your RPMs and speed. Scroll to it and turn it off.

Go under settings (meter settings) on the instrument cluster and toggle thru to disable eco light

Ill go back through the cluster again - I can get to the eco screen but it only shows me the eco meter - and no the manual just explains what it means! :annoyed:

it's on multi information display, looked it up in the manual for you - page 559 in manual and page 90 if you don't know how to operate multi information display. It's easier to find stuff if you download PDF version of manual from Toyota web site. There are few more other useful thing in the manual : )

    Oooh look, another mod.....

How to turn Toyota 4Runner ECO mode on and off
    1. Locate the display button on the steering wheel.
    2. Press the button to cycle through the options until the ECO light is selected.
    3. Hold down the display button to toggle the light on or off.

That's another reason to read the manual - learn about all electronics aids, operating 4x4, maintenance, driving limits, all customizable settings and so on : )
And welcome to the club : )

They must not include manuals in those. Thank GOD, Toyota has enough for thought to include them in the T4R’s.

BTW, I knew it was in the manual because I looked it up before.

I did the same on my 06 Tacoma for the TPMS light. It permanently discolored my gauge cover

    @bargerighthru Welcome to the forum!

Yes. The huge benefit of a PDF version is that it’s searchable!

The thing I'm curious about S5 is if everything (minus the ECO light possibly) acts the same as in "D"...
