    Hello all, can anyone tell me if a finger width space is enough for clearance from fully locked tire to body mount? Or am I playing with fire? Here are some pics of my clearance, driver side and passenger side. Thanks

    i’m running 285s as well, but with stock upper control arms and a 2 inch lift from Bilstein and my clearance is like yours and no issues. I’ll try to get a picture of mine in the morning

    Just remember you are on flat ground.

    Any suspension flex it will be different.

    @TrailSpecial22 thanks that would be cool. Like I said, I have about a finger width of clearance or approximately half inch clearance.

    @Dillusion about how much flex and how much play? I don’t rock crawl or don’t do anything hardcore, just moderate trails.

    You'd get even more with SPC UCAs, if you start having trouble I'd try them before a bmc

    Dont know I've never hit the trail (whatever sad ones we got) and got out and looked at my clearance.

    If it rubs then you will know.

    @Goose Goose
    hey OP, lots of good info for ya.

    Although I dunno that you’re safe from rubbing with one finger clearance. Stuffing the suspension will be the test.

    I’ve seen many dudes post flexing positions, @Yotaholic may be able to ease your mind on the question of 1/2” clearance while on ground being sufficient once stuffed

    I have 3/2.5" lift and had to chop the crap out of my body mounts for flexing clearance on 285/75/17 nitto ridge grapplers. 20241016_103334_HDR.jpg

    No "fire" danger here. If the tire rubs on the trail, it'll just rub some paint off the cab mount.
