    Seems like a lot of variables , is 3 inch lift with 33’s kind of the max out for these cars before it gets to be a lot of work

    OME springs state they are 2.5-3" and it looks like that's what you have.

    I was actually able to find my car getting done in the shops page and they stated it’s a 3” lift so I’m assuming that’s correct lol

    34's are going to make your car slower and worse MPG. Most people re-gear when they go 34's. On 33's I feel like my 4runner is sluggish and I would want to re-gear if I went 34's. And also a flash; new tune.

    I did meet a guy with a 2nd gen Tacoma on 34's who said he loved the way his truck drove but only after getting his ECU flashed. No re-gear.

    You'll probably need to do more cutting to make 34's fit. You're current tires might not even fit perfectly - by that I mean they might rub when your wheel is fully turned and the tire is full articulated or compressed upwards.

    Curious - does your 4runner have a body mount chop?

    I have a baby in the car I’m driving like an old man anyways haha so speed isn’t a concern , I was just curious if I were to go 34’s what exactly would I need to do along with installing them, also the body mount chop is something I’ve just learned of today and I have no idea if my car has it I’ll have to see some pics of what it looks

    This part I outlined from your pic. Looks like you probably don't have this chopped.

    Just means if you really want 34's. You'll need to cut more bumper.

    When going in reverse out a driveway and turning the wheel the front tires don't rub?

    yes if I’m in reverse and have the wheel cut all the way the front tires rub, if I got that body mount chop and viper cut the bumper would the 34’s clear? I’m also assuming I’d need UCA’s

    I have the same size tire and had the same rubbing issue while in reverse with the wheel cut and in my case, the tire was rubbing on the fender. This doesn't need a drastic viper cut to fix, you can trim about an inch off the fender to correct the problem with a simple utility knife, shaving a little at a time, and if you do a half decent job, you won't even be able to tell you trimmed it. There's videos on YouTube that show how to do it. Do you still have contact with the previous owner to call and ask him about the lift?

    For lift comparison, mine is lifted 2.75 inches in the front, and 1" in the rear to level it out. Tire size is 285/70/17.

    You cut as much as you need to cut. You can turn your wheel in your driveway and then either eye ball it or use a ruler or something flat to see of the tire will rub if the suspension is compressed.

    Keep in mind if you'll rub a lot more if you go off road compared to backing out your driveway.

    I haven't done 34's. I don't know. You might be able to push the tires forward via alignment and then cut the bumper and not have to do the body chop. But then that's more bumper cutting. Up to you on how you want to achieve it. I wanted the least amount of bumper cutting so I chopped the body mount.

    When cutting the bumper for clearance will that start making the paint chip and flake from cutting into with a knife ? Also I’m assuming my biggest issue for why I rub is it appear the last owner put a good size wheel spacer on the car for a more aggressive offset

    YouTube has videos of people doing it. Watch some. You put painters tape down and it keeps the paint from getting messed up. You can also draw a line on the tape where you want to cut.

    Yes, the spacers make it rub a LOT more. However without them your tires will probably hit your frame and upper control arm.

    Interesting I didn’t think of that so maybe the spacers are worth keeping , honestly it’s just the drivers side tire and it’s a light rub when in reverse full wheel lock it’s nothing major . If I were to go to 34’s is it possible just some bumper cutting and a body mount chop is all I’d need then since they’d still be the same width just taller ?

    Yeah so they would push into your bumper a half inch more.

    Or even more with articulation.

    Spacers not worth keeping. Get a 34x10.5R17 if you want a 34 on those wheels. Or get some wheels that space them out far enough and 285/75R17. 34s will need clearanced for anything other than straight driving on these. Don’t mistake the lift for clearing larger tires

    Gotcha now is there any other way that’s maybe easier / cheaper to make the 4Runner taller than what it’s currently at aside from larger tires

    I’m just trying to figure out what exactly needs to be done for
    It to accommodate larger tires , now are 34x10.5 and easier size to accommodate with less rubbing or is it the same as a 285/75

    Nope. 3 inches is the limit. Even then...I have a leaking boot for my tie rod probably because it's always flexed with a 3 inch lift...at 34k miles.

    You can go a little higher but it will start getting crazy expensive and a lot of work.

    Skinnier tires means you can run a more positive offset wheel which in turn makes your scrub radius smaller. Skinnier tires also keeps the outside shoulder closer to the frame which again, helps scrub radius. You’ll probably still need a BMC and maybe the pinch weld flattened.
    34x10.5R17 is 1.7mm wider than the stock 265/70/17 so width would no longer be an issue as far as clearing the suspension. That means you could remove the spacer and suck that tire/wheel back in. Looks like a SpiderTrax spacer which is 1.25" or ~32mm making your effective offset on the stock wheels a -17. Keeping your current wheel setup with the spacers and adding 285/75/17 will have a 1.6" larger scrub radius than 34x10.5R17 on your current wheels with no spacer. Smaller scrub radius means less to cut and less to remove.

    Oh wow okay that was very detailed haha thank you! So with the 34x10.5 we’re talking probably bmc , UCA, and remove spacers , and possibly some more bumper trimming and they should be alright . Now with all that being done would this car be useable for off road or would I end up sending the tire into a fender when it flexes lol

    Maybe. Each 4R is different and you’re going with a taller tire so it may still rub and need clearance. But it will be less than a 285/75/17 on your current set up.

    You could still send it into the fender. Stock tire is little less than 32”. You’re looking at moving to a 34” tire so your bump stops need to be extended by an inch. That’s what keeps you from sending it into the fender.

    Okay got it thank you man, I love the truck just would like a little more lift out of it and I figured the 34” should give it an extra inch that might look a little better but it does seem like most guys stay with 33’s

    I believe most who run 33s know what is involved cost and modification wise to run tires bigger than that, and figure the cost outweighs the benefits. The 4R is pretty capable in stock form, but plenty of owners are willing to do what's necessary to run 33s.

    If you're willing to spend whatever it takes to get the look you want by fitting 34s, that's your decision.

    with where I’m at right now with a 3” lift on 33’s would it be wise of me to upgrade the uca and do a bmc if I want to off road it
