    Hey folks,
What brand of oil should I use??

    Just kidding....

Do these trucks have an oil life monitor? Or any other way of telling you when you need to change the oil?

My personal preference is to change the oil around 6000km.

I found the maintenance reminder screen where you can set all of the intervals, I'm assuming that's the only screen that will tell you when maintenance is due?

All the fluids were changed when I got the truck ( Toyota certified)
May I ask what the suggested intervals are for all of the fluids so I can set the reminders?

Coolant, trans, brake, dif, xfer case etc.

    Thanks!

In addition to the maintenance menu there is dash maintenance light scheduled to light up that has to be manually reset. It’s strictly a function of fixed mileage since reset.

Perfect. Is that maintenance light linked to whatever intervals I set in the maintenance menu? Or is it the default Toyota setting?

I'd read the owners manual, but my truck didn't come with one

the two are independent of each other. The one on the dash that you reset by holding the trip odometer button is Toyota default and not programmable

    Good stuff, thank you!

Do you happen to know the recommended intervals for the other fluids? When I looked in the maintenance screen, everything was blank.

In my case, the dash oil maintenance indicator is independent from the info I set in the head unit.

Dash alert trips as I approach 10k miles since last reset, doesn’t seem configurable to me but i’ve seen people say it’s a 5k mile countdown for them.

The head unit maintenance alerts pop up in the head unit only.
