I never heard it came with matching spare. It does matche in terms of tire type and wheel, just horrible yellow color.

I still got my 1996 spare. Its not dry rotted or anything. I did make it home on a passenger front flat towing the boat. Didnt even know it was flat.

Any newer Limited owners who can attest to what the spare looks like?

Okay, I bought 5 Toyo Open Country AT3 tires. OEM spare dis not have TPMS, purchased one from Toyota for 75$ and had it installed on the spare. I thought the 5th was gonna show up. But no turns out one needs to have the TIS techstream software to program that in. That way it can always show on the dash. But I dont have TIS and dealer wanted 195$! to have it reprogrammed. Rip off. Now I got a flat a few weeks ago, and swapped the flat with the spare, to drop the flat off at Discount Tire for repairs. I just reset TPMS(Change wheel set option) from the dash and 4runner picks it up, you may have to do it a few times, since the truck seems to grt confused sometimes. But agter a couple tries, I can see the 4 tires with the coreect pressures, and the repaired flat with its own TPMS is mount in the spare location, not showing up on the dash. To sum up you either get someone to program the 5th tire to permanently show on the dash, or reset the TPMS manually. Not a big pain given I did not have to shell out 195$.

Here is the post I referenced during my research

My ‘22 limited has an exact match spare tire and wheel with the other four. TPS on all five.

I appreciate the response. However, mine is a 2019, and the individual TPMS values do not display on my model.

Interesting. I wonder what year they switched from yellow to regular finish spare.

Found it. 2010-2014 Limited-yellow spare, no TPMS. 2015+ matching spare with TPMS.
