Had 285/70/17 El cheapo Chinese m/t on just to see fitment and if I liked bigger tires. They chunked a few lugs and split some but where still drivable. They also started bumpy ride and became super loud about 20k miles on them. So I decided to get sone nitto ridge grapplers 285 /75/17 love them. Check them out. 20241007_170603_HDR.jpg

I’ve been happy with my Nitto RG’s. Nice having a tire that you don’t have to sweat driving over sharp rocks.

I love how 4runners look on this tire size. Are you using spacers on the stock wheels, or just stock.

    Any steering wheel shimmy?

I want to 285/70-17 KO3s this year and have had a hell of a time with steering wheel shake. (another thread here).

Having not run enough different sets of tires on this truck I can't determine how much of the issue is due to the tires versus the truck just having sensitive steering and front suspension.

    Thanks,
    Jason

It's the tires & balancing. KO2's have been known to exhibit balancing issues. It's been discussed in multiple threads.

I personally went through multiple sets of KO2's that wouldn't balance, to the point where I felt there was something wrong with the vehicle.

Switched to Toyo's that balanced easy and haven't had an issue since.

    I'm familiar . . . and I've posted in those threads ;-0

    Just collecting anecdata here.

Seeing if anyone has found steering overly sensitive to balancing as compared to other vehicles.

    Thanks,
    Jason
