Do 4runners come with xm radio subscription?

I just bought a 2016 TRD pro and was surprised that I have XM radio stations. Did the 4runners come with a complimentary subscription?

 

With the ones that are capable... they will give a 3 month freebie to entice you. It's actually not bad... the wife and I both have a subscription.

 

I believe right now there is a two week free trial going on and that is most likely why you have service unless you got the deal @jgcaps mentioned. As a coincidence, they are also running a $4.99 a month special for 12 months. I just renewed my subscription yesterday. I don't like paying for radio but that is a good deal and I like listening to games while driving.

 

Yes they do and dear God, they are annoying when you decide not to renew. I was getting called 2-3 times a week and they wouldn't take no for an answer, they just kept casually asking for my credit info. Most of the time I just have to hang up on them because they wouldn't shut up. One time I told them that I couldn't use satellite radio because my daily commute is one long tunnel. Still get mail at least once a week.

 

Thank you for the replies. My 4runner is a used 2016 model that I just purchased. I am surprised it has satellite radio that is working. It is not promotional , I never hear anything about subscribing.

 

every so often when a subscription ends it doesn't turn off, my dad as well as one of my coworkers sat radio is still going however neither has actually paid for it.

Did you buy new or used? If it's used the previous owner could have forgot to cancel their subscription or the contracts runs until the end of the year?

Mine was used as well. You get a 3 month promotional freebie when it leaves the dealer. After that they'll start hassling you to pay for it. I never listened to mine once, and they sounded kinda peeved when I told them that.

 

Tell me about it. Hell just trying to get that promotion they tried to up sell me a few times..."want an Alexa?" NO..."want a free radio so we can charge you another subscription to run it?"...NOOO....they are relentless.

 

I just saw a XM commercial on tv yesterday that said they're running a free promo until Nov 26 or something like that. They said you can listen online or in equiped vehicles. They're gonna try to get people hooked while they're all traveling for the upcoming holiday!

 

I love XM radio. I wait for the email promo’s that give me the best discount before renewing.

I really hate commercials and local radio.

Yes...When you drop them they'll take you back at a good price or just let them mail you the special to come back (usually about a month after dropping them.)

When renewing do not give a credit card, then they have it on file to auto-renew you every time. I tell them to invoice me and they do. If they say they can't/won't just say "oh ok I'm good then thanks" and they'll change their tune. (get it change their tune?)

 

I just set a reminder/alarm on my phone for a year away on it's calendar telling me to call and cancel the service before I get charged $20 a month.

 

Well its November 29th and I still have my Sirius/XM radio. Digging it .

 

Yes we know. I think this entire thread is about the fact that you get three months free when you buy from a dealership.

 

No it is a 2016 used vehicle and no mention of XM included but thanks.

 

2016Pro take my advice and just keep it until it goes off. Just got my call and my 3months goes until Feb 2019, then they will offer a 6month all access for about $60 total. So my subscription runs until August 2019 all access. At that point I told the agent that we would need to talk about the Highlander and Runner that I would not pay $500 per year, but we would deal with that then. Just my story and let you know what I got.

 

It doesn't matter if it's used. It came from a Toyota dealer. You get 3 free months and then a lifetime of harassment. Congratulations and thanks.

I call to cancel a day before my elcheapo rate.. then they will offer a low rate now I paying $85 for 12 months ..
I guess I messed up next time I will try to get your deal.. $5 / month is great ..

 

Good info here. Just picked up a 2016 from a dealer and it's clear from reading it's a promo and they'll be harassing me in 90 days time. I do enjoy it tho fwiw. Lots of great stations for those of us that love variety and not top 10.

 

I appreciate that. I could justify $5-8 bucks a month, same as Pandora, but looking online it seems double that. I used to have it (gasp) 20 years ago...it's been a while but looking appealing now vs radio.

 

The last time I told them “no” to their 3 consecutive offers, they ended up giving me a year for a little over $5 a month all said and done.

 

I have a lifetime membership, back when they actually had such a thing - back in 2007. Father-s Day gift from wife and son - it was on my 2007 Mustang GT. When I transferred the satellite subscription to my new 2019 4Runner, it was just a $75, one time transfer fee. Best money ever spent - doing the lifetime membership subscription.
