On my armrest there is a little play. When latched there's a slight up and down movement that drives me insane. I figured at first that I could possibly adjust the small rubber bumps that are located on the underside of the armrest; Kind of like how you can adjust the rubber bumps under the hood to adjust how tight the hood latches. Unfortunately all they do is spin with no noticeable difference in the up and down movement. I've thought about just adding a small adhesive felt tab to fix this. Is there something I'm missing or something else I could do? Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks

Put a bit more stuff in the box and latch the lid down. That is what I did.

I would add some space with extra felt around the bumpers to take up some of the extra slack. There is no adjustments available for the lid.My bumpers compressed slightly from the weight of my arm and it has created some slack and in turn extra movement.

Yep. This was the conclusion I came to as well. The play it had when others put their arm on it doesn't reflect the awesomeness that is my 4runner. As such I will be fixing it. Thanks everyone. You guys are alright.

In this thread I remove and open up the lid. May be worth checking out the screw points or other parts. Lots of pics for reference.

Adding one of those two-compartment trays that rest on the top edges of the center console conpartment took up enough slack for it to no longer bother me.
