    Hello everyone!
Glad to be here and join as a new member.

Ill be moving soon from Vancouver BC to LA. Its a roughly 2100km (1300 mile) journey. I was thinking about getting a Uhaul for my stuff.

Do you recommend that I get a Uhaul Truck and tow my 4runner down, or should I get a 6’x12’ cargo trailer (1900 lbs empty) and tow it with my 4Runner?

Any tips and suggestions would be appreciated.

Welcome. I’d recommend towing a trailer with your 4Runner. But really it depends on how much stuff you’re moving. Do your homework regarding the 4Runner’s towing capacity.

yeah, depends on how much stuff you're talking about. If possible, I think I'd rather drive my vehicle than the lousy, smelly UHaul truck for that length of time.

Space will be the deciding factor (the covered 5x8 trailer was barely enough for my one bedroom apartment move, leaving the sofa behind) but the trailer will definitely be cheaper. I’d do that all else equal.

It's really easy to underestimate the amount of shit we all acquire. If it were me, I would get a Uhaul truck and a 4 wheel car trailer to put the 4R on. That way, if need be, I have extra room in the 4R for things. Plus, put the wear and tear on someone else's truck.

I agree wear and tear. 4r might be able to do it towing but will be miserable anything other than flat lands.

Before I regeared it was miserable going up inclines not towing. Passed plenty of 4r towing struggling to keep speed going up hills.
