Hi!!! Waiting for a new 4 runner… was at the port in Aug when I put money down. Due to the dealership sept 19th. At the end of sept there was no movement probley due to the strike. Then it finally changed to in transit and has been sitting there with a date of 10/23… I saw one similar to mine change dates twice and get there way before its due and is now off the dealership site… I had money down on mine and someone put money down on the other one weeks after me and got it like I week ago .. ugh… anyone know of any other updates?

    Oooh look, another mod.....

I just got an update that your 4Runner won't arrive until after Christmas. They said they delayed it again because you're impatient. That isn't true, right?

Reeeeeeeeelax lady. It'll get there and you'll be slapping accessories & mod's on very soon. If it makes you feel any better, I'm enjoying the hell out of MY 4Runner. It's so awesome. I love driving it. :)

I would be all over my dealership contacts, due on sept 19, had nothing to do with the port strike. Are you sure it hasn’t been sold to someone else?

I put $1,000 down and they marked it sold… still showing on their site.. I originally asked for an update and the guy I’m dealing with said oh just a small delay.. I was thinking 2 or 3 days but still has progress… I found out that there was no progress at all since Aug. I asked him again and he said I don’t see a date. I said well I would like more of an update then I don’t know I don’t see a date. They contacted someone down there but they said they were behind due to part shortage and employees. Then I noticed it went from production to transit and gave a date. I saw another on the site.. update to transit give a date pretty far out then change to a closer date then dropped off completely before that earliest date. I asked the guy again and he tellls me the same thing that I can already see… I’ve been wanting a new update cuz I’m going on vaca on the 16th. Ugh! I know it takes time and there could be delays but I don’t get very good communication even if there is a delay

    Welcome.

Are you getting a verbal date quote or are they sending you a screen shot of Dealer Daily?

Ask the salesperson’s manager for a dealer daily screen shot. It will be the most accurate.

Changed from production to in transit?

How the hell does it go from in port back to production?

They are full of shit. If it was really in port in August they sold it to someone else.

If this happened to me, I would think hard about buying another Toyota. Other fish in the sea. Sucks that they treat a sale like a slab of beef. If you had a deposit, They Damn sure should have honored it.

Same thing happened to me in 2017 and that brand will not get my business ever again.

Surely this thread is in the wrong category.

I have a feeling Toyota is taking time not to have another model in their poor reliability list. Latest I heard was Tundra hybrids also having engine problems. Which I have a feeling Sequoia and GX550 will join the party as well. Since Tundra hybrids not on recall list owners are getting just short blocks, not full engine replacement. As for 6th gen 4runner having 4cyl turbo I see Lnd Cruisers with 4cyl turbo owners facing problems. So I don't think Toyota want to add another failure.
