    Hello everyone
Any suggestions as I just purchased a 4 runner and I am in need of a good Kayak rack system and maybe store some gear up top…. Occasionally a 10’ ladder
    Thanks

I have a 13' tandem kayak that I carry on the roof rack. I use Malone saddles. I have also carried a large dog crate up there. I wrap the cross members is some some bathroom rugs I have.

It's not kayak specific but I've been really happy with a fairly basic set of Inno crossbars. You can spec out the width to allow carrying multiple kayaks. Obviously a ladder would be carried easily as well:

If you are only carrying one kayak, the factory crossbars work fine.

If you want like a 'J' carrier specifically for kayaks then I got nothing - never used one.

I use old 58" Yakima round bars, Yakima Timberline towers, Yakima hully rollers in the back, and Yakima saddles in the front.

These racks also work fine with Thule Motion XT XL topper.

Welcome, there's a lot a ton of roof racks out there.
Imo this is the best (budget) setup for kayaks and ladders.
