My 2WD has been a trooper through all of this. I was south of Boone when the weather turned bad, and I don’t think I would have made it out without ground clearance. It’s scratched to pieces, but serving me well.

also, got to use it on Saturday to bring relief supplies to the Newland/Banner Elk area, which has been devastated by this storm.

I’ve seen a ton of 3rd gen’s and other 4Runners also delivering supplies, so if you’re in the area and able, they are still in need.

Need to start looking for a 4wd now...

I’m in Atlanta and my church has a disaster response team that I’m part of. I just got word that we will be sending a team to help out later this week.

Thanks to all who are helping..

    Cheers,
    Bob

Our daughter and son-in-law live in Boone near the App State campus. They and their house are fine, but so much has been lost in the area. We’re heading up there Friday to see how we can help them as they help the community.

Glad to hear that they are okay! Let me know if I can help them in any way, I have food/water and am also located near campus.

I have family that lives off 105 in Vilas outside of Boone. They had been trapped up on the mountain without power since Friday night. Yesterday they were rescued by friends and other family and are staying elsewhere. All are okay, but a scary time.

Oh man! So glad they are okay. If they need anything at all, let me know. I have supplies and am willing to travel to help people. I'm posted up in Boone at the moment.

Thank you for your kind offer. Those of us that don't live in the area became concerned Saturday when we didn't hear anything. Funny how things work, I have a niece in the Boston area that had a friend in the Boone area, and the friend must have still had power. The friend went up the mountain (downed trees blocking the road) and carried drinking water and dry goods up to my family members trapped on the mountain. That was how we found out they were mostly okay, but couldn't drive off the mountain. Sunday afternoon, other local family members got them off the mountain and are staying with friends and family, one outside of Boone and others down in Charlotte.

None. Bone Stock. EXCEPT: Brushguard, tow hitch, both welded to the frame. It's good to have friends and a fully equipped garage!
