Not sure about 4Runners, but I bought an OEM metal housing for my 2010 Corolla.

I can't believe this thread is still going...if you like the plastic, use it. If you want aluminum, get it.

I got completely lost somewhere around the deframmulated torque value of the bypass oil pressure spring valve seat plate...

Uh huh! And it is calibrated HOW?

Plus the pressure check at the end of the fallopian tube!

The Aluminum one is really the only way to go. I’ve seen at least one plastic canister, well not really, but potentially, well maybe the possibility, actually not seen any failures, but the thought of a failure of a plastic canister makes it impossible for me to sleep at night. That being said I think I’m going to switch back to the plastic canister as the aluminum one is way to shinny and bright. I like dark and gloomy.

    Thanks
    Mike G.

If the plastic is good enough for the Car Care Nut, it's good enough for me.

Hey it’s 4:50 AM in SoCal and I just can’t sleep even though I have the Aluminum canister. BTW Car Care guy is an AI generated Toyota Part Sales guy. Not sure what his kickback is but I want in.

Funny, I watched his video where he explains it, and then 3 days ago I saw Vikings Garage change his over to aluminum. :notsure:

Although the latter can be entertaining, for me CCN > Vikings Garage.

The Vikings Garage guy lives in a neighborhood very close to me, but I haven't figured out where he works.
