I’m looking to blackout the overhead console on my 4Runner. I already purchased a plastic trim piece on eBay that will cover up the whole frame of it but I’m wondering if anyone has or if you have recommendations on what I can do to the sunglass holder. As you know it’s currently gray and I would like to get it black. Not sure if this is easy to remove so it can be painted, or maybe some sort of tape. Or maybe someone has done this and can tell me how it was done. Any help or suggestions would be appreciated…

Too poor to buy anything now
If you can remove it, wrap it.

    Oooh look, another mod.....
Remove it, lightly scuff it up with a scotch brite pad and then hit it with a rattle can of flat/matte black spray paint. Two 2 or 3 even coats for full coverage.
