That group owns a lot of the Honda dealerships in my area. I bought from them and had a good experience.

Nice! Looked at those. How long was the install? Any perceived benefits?

Nice! I'm gradually blacking out my 2019 SR5. Just replaced the door handles. I like the contrast. Might be a bit too much for the white tho. Anyway, enjoy!!!

    Love the wood in background!
I wish I could burn it here, too much work. So I compromised with a pellet burner. Lot of fun, but not nearly as much as wood burning stove.

Let me know if you have any luck removing the wrong sensor. I installed the wrong one (it did nothing), tried to remove it, broke it in the process, and ultimately put the factory cover piece back on. I suppose I could take the dash apart to get to it to complete the removal and try again, but I'm not sufficiently motivated to do that right now.

I have a yellow top battery which seemed like it wasn't charging well. It wants 13.65-15 volts to charge. I think the factory system does the very low end of this. I measured the DC Power at 14.11 volts. By not charging correctly I mean the voltage on the battery was pretty low and my wife said she got some warning temporarily on the dash about low voltage or something.

The factory alternator is 130 amps. Probably less at idle? The DC Power is about 200 amps at idle and up from there. I've got 1600 watts worth of D series amps, a 500 watt inverter, a light bar that takes 12 amps in the bumper and I'm thinking about adding a 16 amp light bar up top. Definitely needed an upgrade if those were to be all on at once.

Install was pretty long. I followed this video except I had to remove and loosen a lot more stuff to get access. I was shocked at how far back and difficult to get to the stock alternator is. And then the DC Power definitely needed spacer which I did find another post on the T4R forums that someone had to do. Probably 3 hours to remove taking my time, watching this video a lot asking myself how was I going to reach this thing, looking at a lot of other forums posts especially since it needed this spacer and didn't feel like it actually fit the 4runner at first, then drove to a hardware store which didn't have what I needed. They provide a replacement bolt which isn't long enough so got an appropriately sized bolt the next day and had it all back together within an hour.

The aftermarket one doesn't use as many brackets for cable management so I zip tied wires down pretty well. The stock connector needed to be drilled out with a step up drill bit as it didn't fit the larger bolt on the DC Power.

Blacked out badges, window deflectors, smoked 3rd brake light. I have a Borla muffler on order as well as some color matched engine cover stickers. I'll be painting the stock wheels soon as well. Falken tires in the fall as well.
Ya gotta black out those wheels. I did mine in Rustoleum gloss blackWheels after three years.jpg

I'm impressed. I knew Off was good for repelling insects, but didn't know you could use it to jack up the 4Runner! :p

I bought a Mityvac hand vacuum pump and went at it myself with each brake bleeder. Not sure I got a complete flush since the fluid already looked pretty good coming out but eh, I could bump up the interval if it really weighs on me in the future. Started with RR wheel, RL, FR, FL

I remember reading something about being able to use the built-in pump to get fluid out of the rear brakes but I didn't remember until after so I'll look into that next time.

No pics but added a switch to Morimoto XB Evo's to control the DRL's and the fancy start-up sequence. It was kind of annoying not being able to turn off the DRL's like the stock units.

These aren't really a great way to track a stolen vehicle. Airtags don't have GPS. They ping nearby iOS devices with Bluetooth, and the iOS device uses it's GPS to report the last known location of the Airtag. If your thief doesn't use an iPhone and hides the vehicle in the middle of nowhere (or out of Bluetooth range), you'll never see your vehicle again.

It probably works well for me because I live in a very populated area No matter where the vehicle is there is a smart phone to ping the tracker.

It's a very cheap (one time cost) and easy thing to do for piece of mind.

I've thought about an extra battery hidden somewhere and a charge controller off the main car's battery. The extra battery acting like an extended power supply for a ruggedized cell phone with a real time tracking app.

Any suggestions on GPS trackers? I was looking at them but nothing looked great.

I have the Accessorides remote start + GPS. As long as the vehicle has a cell signal, I can track it. It'll show the last known location if the cell signal is lost or the battery is disconnected.

I noticed some time ago that my spoiler was rubbing on the hatch.

Finally got around to pulling it off and I saw some protective spacer rubber/fabric/tape bits were out of position or falling off.

Busted out the touch-up paint to cover where it rubbed through the paint and this super sticky, thick double-sided tape of unknown type to get the fabric and sponge bits (that I could salvage) back where they should be.

My handiwork is visible in the darkest photo.

All I needed was a cloth, goo gone, panel popping tool, 10 mm + ratchet, scissors and said tape.

After putting it back together, hatch doesn’t seem to move as much as it did before so fingers crossed it’s permanent.

Yeah but anything you put in the typical install spot is going to be disaabled off the bat.

I don't know how yo steal cars but if I did I would pop the hood and see if any smaller wires whare coming off the battery and would just cut those immediately. Then look under the dash for anything.

I got back to ehat I was saying before. For a good tracker I would pull power from a really weird spot deep in the dash that's ignition on to a well hidden charge controller and then epoxy something in one of the read fenders so you have to remove the rear seats to remove the rear plastics to check there meanwhile its got a power supply.

Or the air tags I've got a few in crazy weird places.

Tires and alignment done today. It was a fiasco talking with the alignment guy. I initially told him it it should be around 4. That didn't work and still rubbed the cab mount. So then I said get as much caster as he could get with everything else in spec. He said the passenger side was over 6. That was the ticket for the cab mount for the most part. We'll see, it may still rub once flexed. Now it's a must to trim the front some and push the liner in. Overall Im pretty happy with it. My front rake seemed to be lower than most 4runners I've seen. The front is 3 inches and the rear is 1.5.
