Questions after lifting my 4th gen

    I just finished lifting my 4th gen, OME springs (2885 front 2895 rear), bilstein 5100 shocks. I’ve been driving it a bit, letting everything settle and noticed a couple things. First, my front driver side wheel to fender gap is about 5 1/2 inches and my driver side is about 6 1/4 inches. I do have a full tank of gas and do still have to get an alignment (I know that won’t do much to the height) but was wondering if that is normal. I’ve been driving it for like 2 days so I would guess most of the suspension has settled. Also for my rear suspension, they are both at about 8 1/4. Yes I know it’s high, I’m compensating for weight that will be added back there. I did notice that the axle is leaning a little bit more toward the passenger side though. I’m guessing that is just because the pan hard bar is at a different angle now, I just want to double check. I was already planning on buying the Eimkeith correction kit in the near future anyway.

    Assuming you meant passenger side is 6 1/4"? So it sits 3/4" lower on the drivers side post lift? I think that is normal due to the batter, you, and fuel tank all on the drivers side of the vehicle. A lot of people put spacers on the drivers side to accommodate for this 'lean'. There's even a term for it for Tacomas, the 'taco lean'. So i think you're fine.

    Looks great! How's the ride? Did you put the spacer in to correct the lean? I just ordered the exact same setup from Wheelers OR last night so sorry for all the questions lol.

    No spacer yet, I’ve gotten used to the little amount of lean I have so unless it gets worse I probably won’t worry ab it. The ride quality is good, not super stiff but you will feel bumps in the road. What I expected for shocks like these. If you wanted a softer road shock I’d go with the Fox 2.0. Paired with wheels and tires it looks so much better and my stock XREAS suspension was shot so it feels way more in control on the road. I also had rear air suspension so I had to convert that.

    I tow a small boat so the stiffer springs might be better for that anyways. What size tires did you go with?

    285/70r17 Falken Wildpeak AT4W. If you want somewhat respectable mpg I wouldn’t go bigger then this and if you don’t plan on off-roading, I would honestly go smaller. I’m rubbing in the front so I had to take my mudflaps off, and I have to cut a little bit of the front bumper.

    Just a couple
    The drivers side OEM coil spring is longer/taller than the passenger side...99% of coil swap kits (OME) do not compensate that additional lift. Notice your OEM coils boast color marks...blue for DS, yellow for PS...or vise-versa...coilovers enable you to dial that in, but coil and strut replacements do not...it's all good, it's more of an OCD deal than a performance issue...Truck looks great!
